Best place to stay for Alton Towers: Sandybrook Lodges
A theme park that needs little introduction (but we'll give you one anyway!) Alton Towers is undoubtedly one of the UK's most popular theme parks, and is also the biggest. The resort spans a huge 550 acres of Staffordshire countryside, and is known for iconic roller coasters like The Smiler and Oblivion, which are certainly not for the faint-hearted! If you're not as into the big rides like these, the good news is that the park has something for everyone, with areas designed specifically for different age groups. Younger kids will love CBeebies Land, which has family-friendly rides and live shows based on well-loved shows such as Postman Pat, Peter Rabbit, Hey Duggee and Bluey.
Stay close to the action at Sandybrook Lodges, around 25 minutes' drive from Alton Towers. Part of our exclusive Evermore collection, the Derbyshire lodge park caters to a range of group sizes and ages, with a selection of contemporary hot tub lodges sleeping 2-8 people. Adults can relax in the indoor heated pool, sauna and Jacuzzi, while kids can burn off some energy with activities like archery, mini golf and woodland walks. The lodges are also located in the Peak District National Park, so there's plenty to explore when you're not enjoying the thrills and spills of Alton Towers.
Best place to stay for Thorpe Park: Edgeley Holiday Park
Thorpe Park in Surrey is another of the UK's premier theme parks, known for its adrenaline-pumping rides and attractions. Home to some of the country's most exhilarating roller coasters, including the famous Stealth and the heart-stopping Swarm, the park caters to older children and adults looking for excitement. However, it also offers family-friendly rides and play areas suitable for younger visitors, making it a versatile choice for a fun day out. Beyond the rides, guests can enjoy spectacular live shows, a variety of dining options and seasonal events - their Halloween 'Fright Nights' are infamous.
If you're looking for accommodation in the area, then we suggest Edgeley Holiday Park in the scenic Surrey Hills. The caravans, lodges and holiday homes here are designed to comfortably sleep 4-6 people, so are a great choice for families or groups of friends who want to base themselves in the Surrey countryside for their break, whilst still being able to visit Thorpe Park for a thrilling day out, which is around 45 minutes' drive away.
Best place to stay for Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Ream Hills Holiday Park
When it comes to a quintessential British seaside holiday, Blackpool has it all: sandy beaches, lively arcades and amusements; world-class entertainment; and classic treats like fish and chips, candyfloss and sticks of rock. And at the heart of it all? The renowned Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a long-standing amusement park on the famous Blackpool seafront. Established in 1896, it boasts a mix of historic rides and modern attractions, including the Big One roller coaster, which was once the tallest in the world. The park is also home to a variety of entertaining shows, amusement games and family-friendly rides, making it a popular choice for families, friends and couples on a trip to England's northwest coast.
Stay nearby at Ream Hills Holiday Park, only 15 minutes' drive from Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The idyllic Fylde countryside provides a welcome respite from the bustling town centre, whilst still being only a few miles away.
