Conveniently situated in the heart of the National Park is this cosy and well equipped traditional stone cottage providing family accommodation, which was once a farmhouse. Gayle is a small village near the Pennine Way within walking distance of the market town of Hawes, where there is a host of shops, pubs and restaurants. It is home to the Wensleydale Creamery Visitors’ Centre; and to Gayle Mill, Wesleydale’s latest heritage attraction. A pretty stream with waterfalls runs close to the cottage and a few miles away at Garsdale station you can join the famous Settle-Carlisle railway. Whether you prefer to walk or tour this is a really central base to visit the attractions of Wensleydale and beyond, like the Countryside Museum and the Ropemaker’s at Hawes. Ground floor: entrance vestibule, sitting room with stone fireplace for open fire, beamed dining room, small kitchen, utility room leading to bathroom with large corner bath, WC, wash hand basin and shower cubicle.
