More of a young persons holiday ideal for families
The cottage we stayed in was clean and spacious with more or less everything you would need but was very disappointed as the beds were very uncomfortable.
We had an excellent holiday. My grandson enjoyed the pool, soft play and playground very much. We could always park outside our house which was ideal for my mum who cannot walk far. Staff all helpful and polite. No complaints at all.
Really enjoyed our holiday at Atlantic Reach. Indoor pool was lovely. The whole family loved the evening entertainment, it was great fun. We will definitely book again.
Attention to detail at Atlantic Reach not great in general. Staff seemed inexperienced and unclear especially in bar/restaurant. Poorly stocked bar, no plastic glasses for by the pool etc poor in peak season
Simple but clean house to stay in. Quiet location. Facilities fine and evening entertainment good.
Good complex with plenty to do on site. A car is needed to explore surrounding areas but no issues with that. I think the golf and tennis should be included in your stay if you provide your own equipment. Few minor issues when busy such as really long waiting times for food in both the cafe and restaurant.
Great space in our accommodation -especially with a young baby. Site was clean & well looked after. Located a little further away from Newquay centre but a good sacrifice for the space & quality of accommodation. Could do with a small shop on site for essentials but other than that facilities onsite were fine.
we had a lovely holiday the only down sides are no on sight shop. and no menu for children in restaurant.
The best thing about the resort was its proximity to Newquay and local attractions. The resort is just off a main road so easy to locate and travel from.
The first properties you see on site are the cheaper/smaller houses and they just look like a tired housing estate really, the typical grey terraced buildings with upstairs balcony. We stayed in one of the contemporary cottages, these all looked quite nice because they have been painted in different colours, although on some of the cottages the pain seemed to have begun to wear and look dirty and needed re-doing.
The on-site amenities were ok. We were all adults, so had no use of the children's play areas, although they looked popular and I saw some locals coming on-site just to make use of the soft-play area. The gym was used a handful of times by my boyfriend and although I didn't go in there myself, he had no complaints, it seemed reasonably sized and had classes etc.. again, locals paid to use these facilities so they must be of a reasonable standard at least. The indoor pool was a great temperature (you didn't feel the change in temperature when you got in!) and was a good size, with a lane split off for adult swimmers and a corner that is shallower for babies. I don't think we saw anyone in the outdoor pool - but it isn't heated and I have to say didn't look overly attractive. We checked out the teen-den which had lots to do but all required money because they were arcade games. Personally, I'd suggest a vending machine and a sofa or 2 in there for teens to sit down and hang out as well as just playing the arcade games or using the pool table.
We ate in the restaurant once and although we had been told to book there was nobody else in the room they put us in.. The room smelt like sour milk had been spilt somewhere and not cleared up which was off-putting. The food was quite nice, but the smell and lack of atmosphere put us off going again.
Accomodation first class,restaurant facilities disappointing
The 4 bedroom house is superb. Plenty of space for 8 adults and a dog, and 3 bathrooms makes a massive difference.
The only let down on the holiday park is the night time entertainment, which is pathetic!
Overall though a fantastic holiday and would definitely come back.
Had a lovely holiday and would definitely come here again.
Clean, tidy, well kept, modern & great quality accommodation. We enjoyed our holiday there & it was a great location for day trips out all over Cornwall as you can get out onto the main roads to anywhere in Cornwall within minutes. But we had originally booked because there was onsite evening meal facilities which we could take our dogs with us to, but on the week we went the Restaurant & Bar were closed & we hadn't been notified in advance & there are no other evening meal facilities onsite & none of the staff seemed to know when it would reopen. There isn't anywhere else nearby to eat & the next nearest village (about 10+ minutes away by car) has a fish & chip shop but closes really early at 8pm. Otherwise you need to head towards Newquay to get an evening meal. On our last night the onsite restaurant was still closed but offered 1 type of takeaway pizza which we had & it was tiny, disgusting, inedible & overpriced at £8 & went straight in the bin. Also most of the time we couldn't get Three mobile broadband reception on our phones & tablet & the whole park doesn't have wifi as only the cafe onsite has wifi. Also the more disabled accessible accommodation we stayed in still had stairs, normal showers (with a large step into & no seat) & the nearby parking is still some distance away.
