We liked it so much we have booked again for next year.
Quite a nice looking location with the river and the viaduct but the river has mud banks and there is no riverside path of any length on this side. There is a children's playground and swimming pool but no facilities for mature visitors. The walk into Whitby over the viaduct is quite pleasant.
Great location, we love coming to Whitby and this is a great base, nice and peaceful, away from all the noise of the centre and less seagulls. We've been 4 times to captain cooks haven and will certainly be coming again.
Good location nice family base to explore the rest of the coast
We had a great time, the whole family enjoyed our stay in Captain Cook's Haven. X
Absolutely fantastic place to stay, even though there wasn't anything other than a heating swimming pool on site, it was great so quiet and relaxing to come back to somewhere quiet after a full day out.
Lovely cottage and lovely scenery.
Suited myself my parents and small dog extremely well
Excellent well maintained site and superb location with lovely walks into Whitby.
Fantastic little cottage in a great area.
was a fab holiday, cottage was great surroundings were beautiful, would have been great to have a clubhouse but all in all a great holiday, mollies cottage had everything that was needed would definatlety recommend and we look forwRd to going back.
the only thing that is missing from the site is a shop that sells essentials. Bread milk etc.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed and thoroughly enjoyed both holidays.
Lovely place.A nice easy walk to Whitby along the Cinderpath
We had a lovely week at Captain Cooks Haven. Its a great based for exploring, during our holidays we were able to visit Whitby, Scarborough, Staithes, Saltburn and Goathland plus a dayout at Flamingoland.
We stayed in no.32 which is an ayton cottage in the upper part of the resort, it was clean although did have a wee bit of a damp smell in the twin room but soon cleared once we bought a gel freshner from Sainburys which isn't far.
Nana also stayed in No.12 which was an endeavour in the lower part.
Be warned, the hill from upper to lower part is very steep but great for a daily leg workout.
Both cottages had stunning views of the river but at no12 you have daily visits from the local ducks which our 3 year old loved.
No32 is close to the swimming pool which is small but perfect for a morning splash.
Next time we visit Yorkshire we will be staying at a Flamingoland as there wasn't any nightlife or entertainment nearby here. Its perfect if you are looking for peace&quiet. Would still highly recommend staying at captain cooks haven.
No.10. Fantastic holiday. Excellent cottage. Great beds. Looked onto the river.
Fantastic time had by all will be back for sure. Wifi would be s nice addition for posting the days pictures of exploring! Will definitely be back!
this was our third visit to Captain Cooks and look forward to our next visit a we enjoy the tranquility of the Haven and the nearness to both the Moors and the town of Whitby. Ideal.
