It's a nice park in great location . However, as there are not many attractions in the area, especially when weather is bad, the park would benefit from better facilities ( such as indoor swimming pool) or activities for children.
The park positioned as 5 star park, unfortunately, I can't agree with this rating. It should have better facilities and activities. Accommodation is very nice , though , and could be considered as 5* accommodation.
ideal location views are breathtaking staff very helpful park is spotlessly clean our static was cleaned to a very high standard .
we will return again one of the best holidays weve had in years
I have 2 children aged 7 & 8 who love games rooms but throughout the holiday we where unable to use it as 50% of the games where not in use, the only ones that worked were inappropriate for young children. We did ask at reception & was told they where aware of the problems & the room should be closed as they where awaiting an engineer but they never locked it up and they never repaired them though our weeks holiday. It also closed at 8pm which seems a little early (not that it made any difference).
The kids loved the out door pool, but it is hot heated as described in the brochure. The kids play area/park could do with being updated,
The shop on the park was very good, well stocked with lovely staff.
The food menu at the pub on site could be a lot better, it does not have much choice but what we did have was ok.
Great but pool too cold and sports court had gravel all over it making it so difficult to play. Shop well stocked and reasonably priced, lovely walk down to the river
Clean caravan and park. Beautifully located. Friendly staff. Swimming pool lovely for kids. Play parks need a bit of attention. Would go back
Holiday park was ideally located and very clean and tidy, but was very run down in areas and tired. Outdoor pool was basic and not heated as advertised, there were no amusements and entertainment was limited to a few nights. In addition for a family site, there were a number of drunk and loud guests.
This was the one of the best caravan sites we have stayed in . It was exceptionally clean, in a beautiful location and had a tranquil atmosphere. We would stay again in a heart beat. We would like to thank all the staff for a holiday that we will remember for all the right reasons.
the swimming pool was not heated and was dangerous, the play areas were outdated and covered in mold and rust the round about was seized solid and the arcade area had nothing working in it and when i asked staff they already knew and said its been like it a while and needs sorting
I'm a single mum from Kent and came up with my three children and one of their friends. I came by train from Euston to Penrith and then taxi. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Travelling from the site without a car proved to be very expensive. It would have been cheaper to have hired a car compared to all the taxi, bus and train fares we paid out for, I think. But the children loved the local strolls, paddling in streams and lakes and the walk to Rutter Falls, a beautiful waterfall location very near to the park. The karaoke and free barbecue on site, plus the swimming pool (even though it was freezing) were much much appreciated.
Apart from the bar and restaurant which seem to be new the rest of the park is tired. It was raining most of the time we were there and the games room was closed as the ceiling had fallen in. The t.v room was grim with one wooden bench and the tots play area was full of jumble toys - most missing parts or batteries.
Had a fabulous time, Lovely staff, Nothing to much trouble for them, Great food, Great value for money Compliments to the chef, Good Entertainment at The club, Lovely caravan, Clean and tidy, Lovely surroudings, Would Highly recommed the park, Will defo be returning next year.
Park is in a really nice setting. If you are looking for a base to explore the lakes, this is ideal as within an hours drive of most places of interest. Park was very quiet and relaxing. Very clean and tidy. All staff very helpful and pleasant. Not a great amount of activities on site for children to do, so if you are looking for a park to spend your entire holiday, you would struggle to keep them entertained for more than a day.
Very relaxed, friendly and peaceful. Staff very helpful. Accommodation excellent.
although reasonable site and accommodation this was not particularly suitable for our family needs
No entertainment such as bingo singers quizzes etc
