A lovely holiday ,the beach was in easy reach and the shop was just a few yards away we will come again
I had a disabled lady with us we had a distance to the car from the caravan there was dust on the cuboards rubbish under the cooker there was a large gap from bottom step to the ground causing trouble for the disabled lady.
car parking could be a lot better
I know you can't help the weather, but it was almost flooded and not much was done other than putting some boards down that really didn't do much. My shoes got ruined.
We spent our holidays in Winchelsea, we were there for two weeks and had a silver caravan. Everything was fine and clean, the staff was polite and helpful. we did not use the restaurant very often, only for a drink in the evening, because we are vegan. So we enjoyed cooking with the gas oven in our caravan. The park was nice and staff was cleaning it every morning. The gulls were crying every morning, but we really love this. There is a co-operative supermarket round the corner with everything for your daily needs. The beach is near and nice, but stony, we enjoyed to visit Camber Sands which is an amazing beach nearby. The surrounding is amazing, all the small villages with their ancient houses and churches... all the gardens and the sea... we visited Eastbourne, Brighton, Seven Sisters and Beachy Head, Rye, Canterbury, Ashford... we also spent three days in London. We can really recommend Winchelsea Beach for your stay!
Unfortunately the site has not got a great deal to do and is very limited in activities, car parking and just general facilities.
It looks tired and needs some investment
To top it off it rained for 5 days, completely out of the parks control, however we were flooded and surrounded by water and we did not see one staff member to help or assist in my opinion enough was not done quickly to resolve the flooding
Weather poor but still great holiday. Caravan was clean on arrival. Site needs modernisation. Not enough spaces to park and spaces very tight.
Lovely holiday park in beautiful surroundings the only downfall is entertainment is not really for teenagers and the pool shuts early at 5pm
Site good apart from the parking which was appalling
had a long weekend at winchelsea sands with familyit was alovely break although we foundthere should be more wheelchair acsessable caravans .we found that all staff were very helpful with all our needs.we would definately visit again and we highly recomend the site
Asked for the toilet seat to be repaired in caravan, did not happen, asked for light fitting that had dropped out of ceiling to be repaired, did not happen and insufficient parking at times.
Staff always ready to help and cheerful.
The caravan we were allocated was very run down. Wallpaper was peeling off walls and windows didn't have locks on them. We did take a dog so didn't expect the Ritz, but for the money we paid for 4 nights we were expecting more. The site was very clean and tidy. We don't have children so never tried the pool or entertainment but did eat breakfast in the club house one morning which was nice, if not a little overpriced but that's the norm for caravan sites. There wasn't a lot to do in the local area other then long walks along the beach. One pub next door, a coop and restaurant just down the road and that's really it without driving or getting a taxi. We made the best of what we had and enjoyed our self's but would not be going back. The night security guard and his dog were very friendly, always polite and willing to help.
