Fantastic family holiday in bramley lodge with teenagers and dog. Lovely setting and lodge had everything we needed. Wilf and Billy the kitten kept everyone entertained. So good our dog didn't want to leave!
We just recently had a fantastic holiday at the Avallon Lodges, our two children loved it too. Lodge itself was very cosy, hot tub was fabulous and the setting was superb a really great place to relax after a day visiting nearby beaches, towns etc we had a great time fishing at their beautiful lake too and Wilf (farm dog) was such good company he even walked us down to the lake and stayed whilst we did. Will definitely return!
Avalon lodges is a lovely place, very peaceful, well kept and very clean. Has excellent fishing lake which is under used as had a 25 lb carp out. The family very friendly and help full great for children to wonder and play as very safe. Lodges very clean and comfortable and will be returning again.
Had a lovely time. On a very rainy day we had s knock at the door, it was one of the owners who presented us with enough hot chocolate, marshmallows and milk to make the drink. A small gesture that was greatly received. You won't get that customer service in many places. It brightened up a rainy day.
Beautiful surroundings & a nice lodge the owner very friendly & helpful.
However the lodge was very basic, one toilet roll no bath hand towels tea towels hand wash or fairy liquid.... Basic ikea furniture & utensils wifi was non existent. Hot tub was fantastic can not fault this all very clean. Not worth what we paid unfortunately, a spruce up & attention to detail would improve this lodge massively.
This short break was not what we expected at all, the lodges weren't very clean and smelt, there were flies all in the hot tub. There was one toilet roll to last us a whole weekend and no towels what so ever and we didn't read anywhere telling us to take our own. We were that disappointed that on the Sunday we left at 5am when we weren't ment to leave till the Monday. Definitely wouldn't go back, waste of money
We had a brillant break at Avallon Spa the lodge was spotless, we all loved the hot tub and the boys had a great time fishing. The owners we lovely and every day had regular visits from the friendly Wilf & Wynn our dog loved playing with them and enjoyed the space & freedom. If you like a peaceful relaxing holiday this is the place for you and is a ideal base only 15 minutes from Bude & 1 hour to Newquay. We would definitely recommend Avallon and look forward to returning next year.
Lovely site with beautiful lodges. Lots to do in the area. Very nice for a relaxing break.
The lodge was very poorly resourced in fact not even a shelf in the bathroom to put things on, no vacuum cleaner, no towels, tea towels, dish clothes, the kitchen very small with very limited cooking utensils. WiFi was very poor. If there had have been four of us instead of three there would not have been enough comfy seats.
The spa was very nice the fishing good but a 10 mins walk away from poperties.
What a gem!!!! Not sure I want to tell anyone else about this lovely place. Great location, we stayed in no. 4 with hot tub with a view of fields, sheep and the stars at night. We had the occasional visit from the retired and unusual looking sheep dog Wilf, who by the way will take you for walks around the beautiful countryside and Wynn the other sheep dog will find you a stick to throw. Staff here are extremely friendly and helpful and the lodges are fully equipped with all the essentials.
Just 5 minutes drive away is the Tamar Otter Sanctuary which we can highly recommend, as they also have roaming deer who will eat from your hands. Super place.
Can't wait to visit Avallon Lodges again
Lovely peaceful break would love to go back miss their dog wilf
As I've been going there for about 20 years ....... I think that says it all !!
lodges are very nice, most things you would need, could do with a dustpan and brush though. overall very good, site owner claire is most helpful and wilf the farm dog is great .we enjoyed our break and would stay again if we were in that area.
very relaxing, peaceful surroundings we were even given a guided tour of the nature trail by Wilf (a retired farm dog) although in some place this turned in to bog snorkeling event as the ground at the bottom of the trail was so wet.
Overall 10 out of 10 for everthing.
Really had a lovely weekend break. So peaceful and quiet and it was great that we didn't have to worry about our dog running off and she also had a great time making friends with Wilf and Wynn.
