Real reviews, from customers like you.
The owners were absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. A very peaceful relaxing holiday and the fishing was fabulous.
Excellent lodge and surroundings, a really lovely place.....woukd definitely recommend.....
There were no shops or eating places on site but the next town was not too far. Also a pub not too far (ca 2 miles)
Perfect location to unwind, plenty of space to relax and lots to do within a short drive.
Add in a pair of friendly dogs and it was about as good as it could have been.
The staff (owners) are very friendly as well.
Best review I can give is we are already planning a return trip.
Four of us stayed in the Avalon Lodge with a hot tub. The lodge was fantastic, the surroundings were beautiful and peaceful. The owners and workers on the farm were lovely and could not be more helpful. The fishing in the lake was superb. All in all we loved it and will deffinately return for another visit.
Arrived thinking there would be a reception to welcome us & hand us our keys only to find there wasn't one our name was on a chalk board with the number lodge we had keys inside.
Lodge was ok.. Needs a good clean bathroom smelt & was full of cob webs & mould.
Hot tub was good.
Location.. Miles away from everything not even a local shop.
Only recommend this place if u like walking in fields & round a fishing lake!
Beautiful location, very remote, extremely relaxing.
Great Cabin, Second time staying. Lovely setting close to lots of local things. Remote and calming. Ideal holiday relaxation with Hot tub.
Secluded location to relax and unwind. Satnav will only take you so far - avoid driving to the lodge at night if you don't know the area. Very beatiful setting and easy to explore Cornwall.
Lodge had not been cleaned prior to our arrival, bedding was unwashed and we were bitten by whatever in bed.
The lodges are in a beautiful quiet location which is perfect for a relaxing stay.
We were welcomed upon our arrival and checked on a little later that day to ensure we had settled in.
We made friends very quickly with Wilf, the resident retired working dog; the most docile dog I have ever come across ~ often sitting with me at night until I went to bed.
The fishing lake was a little further than we thought it would be, but well worth the walk there and back. After the first walk there and back we realised we could drive there and park up very close.
The lodges were a little closer together than we expected, but having said that we had no problems with privacy.
We chose Avallon for 3 reasons:
1. Location ~ close enough for both coastal and inland attractions.
2. The secluded location and size of the site
3. The disabled facilities in lodge 4.
Perfect peaceful location, gorgeous hot tub and friendly owners.. Would definitely recommend :)
Really relaxing. The best fishing I've had for ages. Even both my children caught.
Such a lovely place we've already booked for next year. Children loved being able to run around the field outside the lodge, and the farm dog waiting on the doorstep each morning made the holiday for them.
