The lodge was definitely not value for money. Bathroom door did not shut, light bulbs were missing or not working, cupboard doors falling off their hinges, dirty (probably because it allowed dogs and in my opinion it seems that that people think dog owners are dirty and do not care for cleanliness!) Limited TV entertainment for a lodge in the middle of nowhere, the most uncomfortable double bed I've ever slept in although the boys slept OK in the single beds.

We found the beds to be very comfortable, but this lodge had dirty, cobwebby windows and the log walls inside were dirty with dust. A kitchen cupboard door fell off the hinges when we opened it and the kettle was badly furred. The toilet was running with water from when we arrived till we left. We couldn't stop it and the noise from it was annoying and it kept me awake at night as the bathroom door would not shut the last 8 inches because it jammed solid on the floor, also ensuring there was no privacy for occupants either. My husband gave up having baths after the first, as he said he could smell the toilet as he lay in the bath. A fuse blew and all the lightbulbs but one blew in the chandelier the second night, so a gloomy room was even darker then. Being used to Sky ourselves, the TV wasn't easy to use from the handwritten note and who wants to be poring through instruction books on holiday? A full length mirror and also more shelf room for toiletries in the bathroom would be good. We'd stay at this location again, but not at this lodge.

The cabin was quite tired and dirty. There were lots of flies - there was a blue lamp provided to try and attract them (it didn't work) so it's clearly an ongoing issue. Also there is no phone signal nor wifi.

We found the lodge to be a bit tired and lacking some tlc! On arrival there was quite a bit of dog mess at the back of the lodge which Mark dealt with promptly. The mattress in the double room was not very comfortable and pillows very thin and would suggest need replacing perhaps with fibre ones. The covered outside was completely full of cobwebs and in need of some attention. The information sheet too needs updating as code for gate and lodge incorrect and no hot tub! All in all a disappointing experience comparing it to lodges in Shropshire and Somerset!

Could have been a bit cleaner. Toilet system ran all the while. Could have done with a casserole dish or two - the one provided was too large to go in the microwave

Bits on chairs were broken,struggled getting TV to operate,this had to be done through the freesat box,this was no problem but no info given regarding this.Other residents had similar problems.Lighting in the cooking area inadequate,lights under storage cupboards not working,light on extractor fan unit not working,large dinner plates were too big for the dishwasher as blade would hit them also decking could do with a good clean.No visitors book to look at to see what previous residents had to say about the lodge and recommendations of things to do and see.Information booklet left seemed to be dated and did not list supermarkets and shops that seem to have been built since the booklet was intrduced.
