We had a lovely time at here. The facilities were limited but they are refurbishing the club house and pool ready for this year. This didn't effect our break in any way though as we wanted to relax in our lodge for the most of it. The lodge itself was lovely and spacious and fully equipped. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and was well used. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely recommend these lodges and look forward to returning there in the near future.
We went off season so there wasn't too much to do unless we went outside of the park. We knew this before hand though so wasn't a problem. If you're looking for somewhere to bed down after a day out and about then this is perfectly located.
Fantastic Break lovely clean cabin very warm and spacious. Defo be back again to relax in the hot tub!
great for a peaceful break with family
Loved it and the family loved it too. So many interesting places to visit like Poole Harbour and Wimborne market was like taking a trip back to the old type of market. Had such a great time and whats even better you got the weather for us too.
5 mins walk to nearest pub that has pretty good food. 15 minutes walk into town. We would return.
The person at reception was not very helpful.Did not know what all the items on the bunch of keys were for.
Although it was not required it would have helped to know that the amenities on site were closed before we booked. We may possibly have selected another site.
lovely stay here, only problem was we were told we could check in from 4pm but not informed the cut off was 5pm so when we got there at 5.10pm the receptionist was quite rude and didn't give us any information on the lodge, hot tub or the area, we then had to wait for the other receptionist who was giving all this information to another group so we could ask her!
We booked 2 lodges, numbers 11 and 12, and had a lovely stay at Merley. However, the ladies in no.11 wanted me to say that the 2 lodges were not equal - no 12 was more luxurious (had carpet, more sofas, larger kitchen for example) yet both cost the same. They didn't think this was fair, even though they spent most of their time in no 12!
Amazing lodges in beautiful surroundings - very easy to find with a well-stocked onsite shop and helpful, friendly staff.
excellent lodges but the charge for power of £5 per day is far to high.
Merley Woodland Lodges is really only suitable for adult groups as there is little for children to do and you would also need transport to enjoy this site as sister site whose facilities you may use is 6.5 miles away. Directions for site are also not clear and we experienced difficulty in finding it
I will say the lodge was very clean. Bed very uncomfortable. Also their should be a post box to leave keys when leaving early. I know it is a self catering holiday but I have been other self catering and their have been bath towels and a tea towel. Quite disappointing really. I think the electric should be included in the price.
This is a nice place to use as a base camp,as there is not lot to do in walking distance ,lodge was nice ,used hot tub every night, nice touch, swimming pool outdoors very plain, as was the bar area reception and staff were very nice and helpfull
