I expected better!
Originally booked four nights but it was so uncomfortable we only stayed three nights. Poorly equipped, dark and depressing with furniture that should have been replaced a long time ago. We could feel the springs in the mattress and it just sank to the base of the bed when you sat on it. Could not wait to get home for a good nights sleep .
The two seater settees were particularly uncomfortable with flattened base cushions. The carpets were stained. The old, obsolete "box" type t.v. had a small screen with a external digibox. It gave a background buzz when in use.
Poorly equipped kitchen. One small frying pan was insufficient. To give people an example of the standard - there were just four everyday glasses. Each glass was obviously old and a different size and shape.
I have read some good reviews on this site. I don't think they stayed in the same lodge as we did (In fact, I don't believe they stayed on the same site).
Would I recommend or return? - no.
This was a short break booked at the last minute.
Amazing place to stay!!! we had a lodge with a lovely view of the river!
The staff were so helpful & friendly.
The food was Delicious, we will definitely be coming back!!!
The site lacked a decent shop, it had potential for one but what was called a shop was really a couple of shelves in the reception area.
On the plus side the on site pub food was excellent value.
Fantastic location to explore snowdon. Great walks from the park. Friendly staff
We had a short break, in a lodge, Mon-Fri in early July. Very friendly staff. We ate in the club on three of our four nights and found the food to be good value and well cooked. The site is heavily wooded, particularly between the lodge and the river, and could do with a bit of pruning to allow more sunlight in (in fairness they were pruning the woodland at the top of the site when we left, so this may have been done).
A great little park where there are very few facilities but for us personally that was a reason to choose this park as we were not there to use any. We were in a Conwy Lodge which was very comfortable and clean. The whole park was clean, tidy, and quiet. Reception staff were very helpful. The bar served evening meals including as takeaways but we never used the bar so unable to comment on.
As with all these types of self catering, you only have the bare essential crockery and cutlery etc and not necessarily matching but you learn to butter some bread and then clean the knife to give it to someone to use to eat - a small inconvenience but easily remedied by some extra cutlery.
Would we stay there again? - most definitely so don't be put off by the cutlery comment above. We were on a Fri - Mon break visiting family in that area and the weather was very kind to us for a change - warm and sunny. The park is well located for touring Snowdonia and the surrounding area.
my holiday was great
Nice quiet site by the river, first impressions were a bit off putting, lots of old caravans very unsightly, but as week went on looked much better as new owners were removing lots of the caravans, cutting down bushes, painting etc. Would go to this site again to see how different it looks, lovely location. The only complaint we had was the service in the club, we went for food on the Friday night and the service was very slow but food was very good once we got it and value for money. Weather was quite good to us so overall had a lovely holiday.
The location is exceptional but the whole park area is looking rather tired with a need for tidying, painting and cleaning.
Fantastic lodges friendly staff and superb food in the restaurant
Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Stunning views of snowdonia however local town of Bethesda was a dump. Nowhere nearby you would want to eat out at with children. Site dated and lacked facilities. Cabin dated had the bare minimum of glasses ect and really wasn't particularly good value for money. We expected better from your company as you came recommended from friends.
The lodge was backing on to the main road and this created noise. There were no instructions for the washer dryer so it washed a set of clothes three times but didn't dry them. I was greeted by a lady who i assume was in charge who was smoking a cigarette- not very good inside a work place.
A great place to stay. Very relaxing with lots of activities to do with children,
