Very tidy modern log cabin, the bed was lovely the bathroom was lovely and warm and we was provided essentials..... dishwasher tablets milk etc they was down within 10 mins of arrival to make sure everything was OK and we arrived an hour early which was fine! If we had to be ridiculously picky the smoke alarm was very sensitive but you would expect that in a wooden cabin. Fantastic stay

The bed was really uncomfortable. The cabin was dusty with lots of cobwebs and smelt quite badly.

This is our third time at Quarry Walk. The lodges are lovely and the hot tub is always welcoming. A quiet and relaxing location that is great for just getting away from it all.

I stayed at the Squirrel log cabin (number 48) at the Quarry walk lodges in Freehay for a week in November 2015. The cabin was lovely and warm when we arrived and the hot tub was checked daily.
There is no signal for mobile phones or the internet due to the place being in a quarry. There is the option of purchasing internet access at the site for a fee. There is no point in doing this as this doesn't seem to work either. You can get a signal at the edge of the car park near the reception - if you're lucky.
We used the hot tub daily which was great, especially when it's raining and you're soaking in hot water. As it was November, there were plenty of leaves on the decking which we had to sweep away from the hot tub in order to make it safer to walk towards with bare feet. However, I did slip one time due to the decking being damp and slightly covered in moss. The staff did have the decking cleaned afterwards which helped a lot.
Overall, the holiday was lovely, the site is near plenty of places to visit with some great walks and the staff are friendly. I would definitely be going again next year.

We come here every year and thoroughly enjoy our stay. We have recommended it to lots of our friends as it is so relaxing. We look forward to this break every year. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, it is the ideal place to wind down and completely relax.

Beautiful lodge and hot tub, Ideal for our visit to Alton Towers only 4 miles away. Wifi in lodge was not very good although this did not affect our holiday.
