The Hideaway Lodges are in a beautiful location and here you will find true peace and quiet! My husband doesn't want me to write a review as he loved it so much he wants to keep it a secret so he can keep going back and enjoying the peace and quiet!
Beautiful lodges in lovely grounds and the hot tubs are just superb. Very friendly and helpful staff. You can walk direct from the holiday park into the forest and there are towns, shops and visitor attractions just a few minutes drive away. There aren't any facilities to speak of at the Hideaway Lodges, no shop or café but this added to the tranquillity of the park. The local Tesco is literally a 5 minute drive away so it doesn't matter that there is no shop.
Lots of open space around the lodges so more than ample space for people to play ball games or sit and have pic nics.
For local attractions, would recommend Rufford Abbey, White Post Farm for kids and the Sherwood Forest miniature railway. Also, the fish and chip café at the main roundabout down the road is worth a visit for lunch or tea! Also if you have kids keep an eye out for the ice cream parlour on the road to Newark. It has a large outside play area for kids and the ice cream is great.
Wonderful holiday and would not hesitate to go back to these beautiful lodges and fantastic hot tub!
A fun, relaxing weekend in a beautiful, well equipped lodge. We would definitely stay here again.
A gorgeous little lodge to escape for a week. So beautifully quiet & the staff are almost unknown when checking the hot tub. The extras of molton brown & local chocolates was exquisite.
I wanted a lodge that wasn't surrounded by other lodges, when booked I asked if this was the case and I was to,d yes. We got there and there where 30 other lodges around us. There was no facilities on site. You have to travel a few miles to get anywhere. We also paid extra for wifi and that was non existent and the tv didn't work all the time
Great break just a shame the log burners weren't working
Lovely lodge and location, fridge needs repairing, excellent location lively and quiet
very helpful staff, friendly atmosphere around the site. Some lovely walks and village pubs nearby. Only complaint is that the lodges are very close together and overlooking each other. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the cars doesn't feel very luxurious! However we had an amazing and truly relaxing weekend.
Although we enjoyed our stay in Sherwood Forest, we found the lodge to be quite small and not the best we have stayed in around the country. It proved overpriced, especially to be told on arrival the log burner - one of the main attractions in the height of winter - had been condemned for health and safety reasons the previous month. The en-suite shower, which had no door, was in the bedroom and overflowed a little during each use thoroughly soaking the shower mat.
Cobwebs in some rooms and some blinds broken
This was my first ever Log Cabin experience, something I have wanted to do for many years. I was in search of peace, relaxation & luxury in a winter wonderland setting. Sherwood Hideaway Lodges did not disappoint. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. It is a great escape from contrast of a busy work Schedule, exactly what I needed. I will definitely be back very soon!
The lodge could benefit from a refurbishment and an upgrade.
What a wonderful place, we would definitely recommend this to anyone
The lodge was well equipped and provided a wonderfully restful environment.
Lovely lodge and arrival goodies. Very expensive over Xmas period but we had a lovely week. Staff helpful and friendly. Would love to go back
Christmas at Sherwood hideaway was perfect, the most relaxing Christmas ever. It was just what we needed after a busy year, the lodge was comfortable and so well equipped. We used the hot tub every day after long walks in the surrounding woodland. We will be back soon.
