The restaurants lining the harbour at Latchi are famous for excellent fish and seafood meze, but also offer other traditional Cypriot cuisine, while neighbouring cafes provide a relaxing venue for an aperitif or nightcap. Polis has a wider selection of traditional tavernas and some international restaurants too, all in very pretty settings amongst cobbled streets and lemon trees. More tavernas, especially good for freshly-caught fish are dotted along the entire length of this beautiful coastline.
Coral Bay has its own resort centre with bars and restaurants offering both Cypriot and international cuisine and one of the best seafront meze restaurants in the area.
The Akamas National Park offers some of the most unspoilt and beautiful scenery in Cyprus and, whilst the mountains are largely inaccessible, the coastal foothills can be explored in part on unmade roads, in jeep safaris, on well-marked footpaths or from the sea. The Akamas boasts an exceptional number of species of flora and fauna, many found nowhere else on the island and the famous Baths of Aphrodite, a spring where the Goddess of Love is said to have bathed to enhance her beauty.
