As the name suggests, this spectacular trail encompasses four Brecon Beacons waterfalls in one circular route (or two if you’re short on time). The trail takes you through diverse landscapes past Sgwd Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn and Sgwd y Pannwr waterfalls. The highlight is undoubtedly the final waterfall on the trail, Sgwd yr Eira, which is Welsh for “fall of snow”. What makes this waterfall so impressive is the path that allows you to walk right behind the curtain of cascading water, making for an immersive and memorable experience. Be sure to wear the proper footwear if you’re going to attempt this! Head back to your Brecon Beacon hot tub lodge to dry off and warm up after this one.
Admire the tallest waterfall in South Wales on this adventurous - and often slippery - trail to Henryhd Falls. The 5.6km woodland walk takes you past the breathtaking valley of Nant Llech, the dramatic site of a former landslide and the serene River Tawe. Keep your eyes peeled for woodpeckers and red kites among the trees or frogs and even adders near the water. Once you reach the waterfall, you can actually walk right behind the veil of water via a path, offering a unique perspective of this natural wonder. Take care as the path is rocky and usually wet. Kick off your boots after arriving back at the Brecon Beacons Resort.
Sgwyd Gwladys, also known as Lady Falls, is a stunning waterfall in a serene setting along the River Neath in the Brecon Beacons. Follow the Elidir Trail from Pontneddfechan village, which takes you upstream past the River Pyrddin until you reach Sgwd Gwladys. Brave the path that leads directly behind the cascading water or swim in the plunge pool below for an unforgettable experience surrounded by natural beauty. After taking a dip, head back to Pontneddfechan and warm up with a drink and a hearty meal in the local pub.
