This 6km circular route begins and ends by Whitesands Beach, just a short drive from St. Davids, Britain’s smallest city. An exhilarating and challenging walk on rocky terrain, it takes you along the Pembrokeshire Coast past volcanic rock, heather-covered moors and an Iron Age fort. Keep your eyes peeled for butterflies and Welsh mountain ponies, along with birds like the meadow pipit, skylark and stonechat, and the rare Dartford warbler which has also been spotted along this route.
This stunning heathland peninsula unveils remote beaches, rugged cliffs and diverse wildlife as you traverse the coastal path. Beginning and ending at Marloes Sands, this 6km circular walk leads you past dramatic rock formations and the remains of Iron Age forts. Wooltack Point offers fantastic opportunities for birdwatching and seal spotting, along with breathtaking views across St Bride’s Bay and St David’s Peninsula.
The National Trust-managed Stackpole Estate encompasses varied wildlife, ancient woodlands and stunning coastal paths. This 9km route takes you past the sandy beach at Barafundle Bay, the natural stone arches of Lattice Windows, the wildflower-rich grassland of Stackpole Warrens and the tranquil lakes of Bosherston Lily Ponds, which are well-known for their vibrant water lilies in summer. Look out for seabirds, dragonflies and, if you’re lucky, otters.
