Generally good accommodation although we had issues with the showers that were never resolved. The mattresses were also very uncomfortable as were the sofas. The lodge itself is also in a bit of a dip so is very dark.
Excellent holiday beautiful lodge. Just couple comments as the lodge was brand new could do with communal downstairs loo as getting out of hot tub you have to go right thru lodge to your bedroom also could do with the hot tub and seating being under cover as the seating cushions are getting ruined in rain and its not nice in hot tub with rain on your head
We stayed in sunset lodge 7 for two weeks. We had a fabulous time in and around Snowdonia and the house was perfect for our family of four plus a set of grandparents, it really is a very generous size. The grounds of the site are perfect for kids to run around in and we all had fun relaxing in the hot tub, but.....the beds were terribly uncomfortable to the point where we had to ask the second set of grandparents taking over for the second week to bring mattress toppers for both double beds to make it bearable. Then we move on to the sofa, the likes of which I have never experienced before. I can only compare it to trying to sit on a triple humped camel! These few but pretty crucial components really let what is otherwise a fab holiday house down. We would gladly return and have already recommended Artro lodges to other friends but strongly urge the owners to replace the mattresses and crazy sofa if they want to achieve the higher ratings the property actually deserves. Please note there is also no wifi on the site as advertised.
Fantastic accommodation, great location, will definitely go again.
Fantastic location, clean tidy & very spacious. Everthing needed for a self catering holiday. We had a great time & would definitely visit again!
Unfortunately the lodges were quite uncomfortable, I really should have complained to the owner but we didn't want the hassle as we were exhausted. The sofa in our lodge was broken so I had to bring the bedroom chair down to sit on and the beds were lumpy and hard. sadly I came back needing a rest. The showers worked, but were a little smelly and the kitchen had greasy door handles and worktops and could have been cleaner. I am disappointed and would not stay there again.
6 of us went for a friends 50th birthday had a fabulous time, the lodge was beautiful and had everything we needed.
A short walk to train station, shop and a local pub which serves lovely food,
Will definitely go again with my family
The lodge and hotbub was great but unfortunately there a lot of roadworks going on in the area when we were there which made it difficult to get about. Otherwise we had a great holiday and would visit Artro lodges again
Lovely lodge, very comfy, warm and cosy, plenty of room for four people, only problem was the large settee, very uncomfortable, springs gone maybe, hot tub lovely,
Wonderful quiet location but with easy access to the surrounding areas. Sheltered from all but the worst of the wind. No inconvenience from the construction works on the site. Nice to see the odd "visitors" to the site (local sheep and ducks).
Lovely lodge was great for a family of 6 to stay, plenty of space and well equipped. Climbed snowdon which was approx 1 and half hours drive away. Lots to do in and around local area.
This holiday was for my 50th birthday celebrations.
Overall I absolutely loved the break away but I was disappointed with the accommodation.
There was a leak over the ground floor bed from the room upstairs and when I contacted the owner the response was I will try to get someone there but it is a Bank Holiday.
Her father in law came to see us but could offer no solution, would try to get someone but unlikely. And no one came. The leak persisted.
My daughter in law is pregnant hence booking a lodge with ground floor accommodation and could not make it upstairs.
The final day there was a further leak into the lounge all over the floor....not too impressed.
I realise a great rate for the holiday but it was not without problems.
The outdoor area could have been cleaned a little better, the outdoor table was filthy and the decking needed a good sweep. I say this because that is where you are when using the hot tub so heavily utilised.
There were a few things that could have made it a 100% fantastic weekend break.
I absolutely loved it there, but it has put me off going back because of the problems and the lack of resolution to them.
Otherwise a delightful 50th :)
excellent- everything was there, it was like home from home- we didn't see any staff until we needed them - our gas cylinder ran out and within 10 minutes we had a new supply! The only reason I didn't give 10 out of 10 for surroundings was the view- just nothing to see but other lodges may have had a better one. The location was fab- near to the village of Llanbedr and most importantly 5 minutes away from the pub! I'd definitely recommend a stay to friends (which I have done already)
A beautiful lodge, very clean, comfortable and spacious. Great if you want some peace and quiet.
We were sightseeing and found the location a little off the beaten track.
