For most schools in the UK, the Easter holidays in 2025 will run from Monday 7th April-Monday 21st April. Schools will break up on Friday 4th April and go back on Tuesday 22nd April. That's two whole weeks to keep the kids entertained... but don't worry, we're here to help!
And, kids or no kids, most of us can still look forward to a 4-day weekend, as Good Friday on 18th April and Easter Monday on 21st April are both bank holidays in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (Easter Monday is not a bank holiday in Scotland).
If you're wanting to make the most of the long break, whether that's just for the bank holiday weekend or for the whole of the school holidays, there are plenty of wonderful UK destinations offering a range of family-friendly events, from egg hunts and bonnet-making to nature trails and parades. Many of our holiday parks open their facilities fully for Easter and host special activities of their own!

Exeter, Devon
Kicking off our list of the best places to go for the Easter holidays, we have the vibrant cathedral city of Exeter in Devon. Exeter came top overall for all bookings in Easter 2024, and was number five when it came to family bookings. This type of location offers great variety for your getaway, with city-centre sights being only a short drive from the coast and countryside.
Events and activities in Exeter for Easter 2025:
Lydford Gorge, near Tavistock: The National Trust site will be hosting an Easter egg hunt, with a family-friendly trail through the deepest river gorge in South West England, including an activity sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg. The trail will be running from 10am-4.30pm (last entry 3.30pm) from Wednesday 26th March-Monday 21st April, 2025.
Seaton Tramway, Seaton: Join Seaton Tramway for their Easter Egg-Tram-Aganza, running over Easter weekend 2025, from 18th-21st April. Pick up a free activity sheet from Seaton or Colyton Stations to take part, then buy tickets to ride one of the open-air vintage trams!
Crealy Theme Park, near Exeter: From 14th-21st April, 2025, Crealy Theme Park will be fully open for all-weather fun and special Easter-themed family-friendly activities. The theme park will also be open daily from 10am-5pm throughout the Easter holidays, with its usual offering of thrilling rides and live entertainment.
Canonteign Falls, near Exeter: If you're keen to get out and about in the fresh air this Easter, then head to Canonteign Falls, the South West's highest waterfall, only 30 minutes' drive from Exeter city centre. From Saturday 5th April-Sunday 27th April, 2025, the 90-acre grounds will play host to a special Easter egg hunt (pre-booking advised). There are also unique Alpaca experiences on Thursday 17th April.
Babbacombe Model Village, near Torquay: Enjoy a day out on the English Riviera at Babbacombe Model Village near Torquay, around 40 minutes' drive from the centre of Exeter. The miniature model village and gardens are hosting an Easter Egg Trail from 29th March-21st April, 2025, with colourful eggs to find around the four acres.
Exeter holiday parks open for Easter 2025:
Fingle Glen Lodges: A rural lodge park set on a golf course, with onsite fishing and golf. The lodges and log cabins are conveniently located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park for outdoor adventures, yet only 20 minutes' drive from Exeter city centre and around half an hour from the coast.
Kingsford Farm Lodges: A peaceful retreat just outside of Exeter city centre, set in 65 acres of woodland. Try onsite fishing with the kids, or head to nearby attractions like the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth or Canonteign Falls.

Bude, Cornwall
Next up we have the beautiful Bude on the North Cornwall coast, which came in as the top destination for families who booked their Easter break with us in 2024, and was the second top destination for overall bookings. With the Easter holidays usually taking place in late March or early April - and this year even later - this can be a great time to head for a seaside break. Being in the South West of England, Cornwall often benefits from warmer temperatures, and when the sun is shining, it can be hard to beat!
Events and activities in Bude for Easter 2025:
Bude Food Festival at The Castle, Bude: Head to the Castle grounds in Bude on Easter Monday - 21st April, 2025 - for a range of delicious local produce, including artisan food, street food and a variety of drinks. The Castle is right in the centre of Bude, so would make a lovely lunchtime pitstop on your day out.
The Castle, Bude: As well as hosting the Food Festival above, The Castle, Bude has a calendar full of events that caters to families and couples, young and old. During the Easter holidays, events include the Fossil Fish Trail, ideal for entertaining young kids, and The Gurney Room Exhibition, showcasing in the inventions and ideas of the Castle's engineer.
Find the Easter Chicks in Clovelly Village: Head to the Visitor Centre in Clovelly, one of the prettiest villages in Devon, for your special village map this Easter. Over Easter weekend, from 18th-21st April, 2025, there will be chicks hidden around the village. Spot at least 10 and you can win a small prize!
Bude holiday parks open for Easter 2025:
Sandymouth Holiday Resort: Part of our Go Active Breaks collection, this family-friendly resort offers a variety of beach shacks, classic caravans and sea-view lodges, right by Sandymouth Bay in Bude. Skegness Aquarium is open daily throughout the Easter holidays 2025
Skegness, Lincolnshire
The traditional seaside resort of Skegness, a firm favourite on the Lincolnshire coast, was the third most-booked location overall for Hoseasons in Easter 2024. Known for its lively atmosphere and family-friendly entertainment, you'll find something to entertain the kids here at any time of year, but things really start to kick into action with the arrival of the Easter holidays. If you live in the North of England or the Midlands and fancy a coastal getaway this Easter, Skegness is a great option.
Events and activities in Skegness for Easter 2025:
Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens: Located just a 10-minute drive into the countryside from Skegness, the National Trust site will be hosting a special Easter trail in 2025. Taking place from 10am-4pm (last entry 3pm) throughout the Easter holidays, the trail includes an activity sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg.
Hardy's Animal Farm: Join in the fun with the Easter Eggstravanganza at Hardys Animal Farm, a few miles up the coast from the centre of Skegness. Over Easter weekend, 18th-21st April, 2025, you can meet the farm's new spring arrivals, including baby bunnies and goats. There's also an Easter-themed scavenger hunt and arts and craft.
Fantasy Island: One of Skegness's most popular attractions will be back open for the Easter holidays, with plenty of fun for all the family. Brave the rollercoasters, play a round of adventure golf, beat your partner at 10-pin bowling or hit the arcades! There's also live entertainment, from kids party characters and musical acts to games nights and bingo.
Skegness Aquarium: If you're keen to see some marine life while on your Easter break by the sea, then head to Skegness Aquarium, right on the coast. It's open daily throughout the Easter holidays, with engaging and interactive displays like the Sea Caves and the Aqua Theatre. When you buy a ticket to the aquarium, you get access to Jurassic Falls as well - an interactive installation of dinosaurs!
Skegness holiday parks open for Easter 2025:
Skegness Fields: For a quieter setting away from the hustle and bustle of Skegness, stay in a classic caravan or hot tub lodge at Skegness Fields. There are limited facilities onsite to offer a more peaceful Easter break, but you're only a 30-minute walk or 5-minute drive from the centre of town when you do want to be a part of the action.
Addlethorpe Country Club: Part of our exlusive Evermore collection, Addlethorpe Country Park is ideal if you're looking for a luxury holiday home for your Easter break. Choose from stylish hot tub lodges sleeping 4-8 people, and make the most of onsite facilities like the bar, 9-hole golf course and driving range, plus cycling and walking trails. North Shore Holiday Park: If you want to stay within walking distance of Skegness beach, then look no further than North Shore Holiday Park. The site itself has tennis courts, a pitch and putt course, children's play area and amusements, all open for the Easter holidays.
The Chase Holiday Park: If you like the sound of Fantasy Island - one of our top events for Easter 2025 in Skegness - then you can stay just a stone's throw away at The Chase Holiday Park. Skegness is only a few miles away, and onsite there's plenty to keep you entertained during the Easter holidays, including a bar and restaurant, indoor and outdoor play areas, and family entertainment.
Coastfields Holiday Village: This coastal holiday park has everything you need for a memorable Easter break near Skegness. If it's a bit too chilly for a swim in the sea, go for a dip in the indoor swimming pool instead, have fun in the amusements, go wild in the outdoor play area or catch some live entertainment in the Show Bar.

The seafront theme park of Joyland will be open in time for the Easter holidays 2025
Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
With its golden sandy beaches, abundant wildlife and endless entertainment, we're not surprised to see Great Yarmouth in Norfolk on our top places to spend Easter - it came in at number four overall and number three for families when we looked at our bookings from Easter 2024. It's another coastal destination on our list, so perhaps people are booking and keeping their fingers crossed for good weather during the Easter holidays.
Events and activities in Great Yarmouth for Easter 2025:
Pirates Live! at the Hippodrome Circus: One of Great Yarmouth's premier entertainment venues will be hosting special pirated-themed performances through the Easter holidays, from 5th April-5th May, 2025. Shows take place in the afternoon or early evening, so are perfect for families, and feature dazzling acrobatics centred around a huge pirate ship.
Merrivale Model Village: Another of Great Yarmouth's top visitor attractions will be back open every day from 5th April, in time for the Easter holidays. The model village is located right by the waterfront, and features a miniature town, complete with a farm, sports stadium, zoo, castle and more. There's also a crazy golf course.
Sea Life Great Yarmouth: Explore the incredible underwater world of Sea Life Great Yarmouth, open daily throughout the Easter holidays with extended hours of 10am-4pm (last entry 2.50pm).
Joyland: If you're looking for a fun and exhiliarating activity all the family will enjoy this Easter, then head to Joyland - a beloved theme park on the seafront. After its winter closure, the park will be back open in full swing for the Easter holidays, with amusement arcades and classic rides suitable for children of all ages.
Great Yarmouth holiday parks open for Easter 2025:
Hemsby Beach Holiday Park: If you fancy visiting Great Yarmouth for a beach break this Easter, then Hemsby Beach Holiday Park, part of our Go Active Breaks collection, is for you. Not only can you walk straight onto a sandy beach from the holiday park, but there's also plenty to keep you entertained onsite even when the weather isn't so great. Facilities include an indoor heated pool, a show bar with daytime and evening family entertainment, a children's club, a soft play area, an amusement arcade and more!
Waveney River Centre: A scenic lodge retreat from our Evermore collection, this riverside park is only 30 minutes' drive from Great Yarmouth, and allows you to experience the best of both coast and countryside on your Easter break. There's an indoor heated pool, a children's play area, a small shop and a pub, and the Norfolk Broads are right on your doorstep.
Eastern Beach Caravan Park: Just a few miles up the coast from Great Yarmouth, you'll find Eastern Beach Caravan Park, which, as the name suggests, has a sandy beach right on its doorstep! There are a few onsite facilities, like a club, bar, games room and seasonal entertainment, but the main draw for your Easter break is undoubtedly the Norfolk Coast.

Burton Agnes Hall and Gardens will be hosting a special Easter egg trail from 5th-21st April 2025
Hornsea, Yorkshire
This hidden gem in Yorkshire was our fifth most-booked destination overall for Easter 2024. Perhaps a lesser-known location than other spots along the Yorkshire Coast, like Scarborough, Whitby or Filey, it may be that our guests were drawn to our accommodation options here. We have several luxurious lodge sites in and around Hornsea which drove a lot of bookings to the area for Easter 2024 - keep reading to find out more.
Events and activities in Hornsea for Easter 2025:
William's Den: From 5th-21st April, 2025, William's Den will be hosting special Easter Adventures, where you can join in with special themed events like biscuit decorating, the bunny bop disco, the Easter garden mission, and even meeting the Easter Bunny! The farm attraction is around 40 minutes' drive from Hornsea, in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds.
Sewerby Hall: Various events will be taking place at Sewerby Hall and Gardens this Easter, with special family-focussed activities. Some events to look out for include Medieval Jousting, Woodland Creatures Theatre, and Easter Magic and Face Painting.
Burton Agnes Hall and Gardens: Burton Agnes Hall, a beautiful English stately home just 20 minutes' drive from Hornsea, is inviting families to take part in an Easter egg hunt and trail around the grounds. Running from 5th-21st April, 2025, there'll be 25 giant eggs hidden in the woodlands, and you'll be given clues to help you find them.
Honeysuckle Farm: The farm - located close to Hornsea town centre - will be reopening in time for the Easter holidays, home to horses, sheep, lambs, cows, pigs, donkeys and goats! Take your kids to meet the animals, then let them run wild in one of the outdoor play areas or go and feed the fish in the onsite pond.
Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo: Just outside the centre of Hornsea, you'll find the tropical rainforest experience of Bugtopia. The zoo, which is home to a huge variety of bugs, reptiles, birds and small mammals, will be open daily throught the Easter holidays 2025. Visit for one of the daily encounters to learn and meet some of the zoo's resident animals.
Hornsea holiday parks open for Easter 2025:
Hornsea Leisure Park: With only a small selection of beautifully furnished holiday homes - all with sea views - Hornsea Leisure Park offers an exclusive base for your Easter break on the Yorkshire Coast. The site itself is quiet, with minimal facilities to retain its peaceful atmosphere, but the seaside town of Hornsea is only a short walk away.
Hornsea Lakeside Lodges: Boasting a dreamy lakeside setting, less than two miles south of Hornsea, these impressive hot tub lodges and log cabins sleep 2-10 people and offer a spectacular base for your Easter break. There's golf and fishing onsite, or you can visit nearby attractions like Bugtopia, Hornsea Mere and Hornsea Bay.
Cowden Holiday Park: For a traditional caravan holiday on the coast this Easter, where the whole family - including the dog - is welcome, check out Cowden Holiday Park. It's right by the sea, so you can literally walk to the beach from the park, or Hornsea is only 10 minutes' away in the car.
Dacre Lakeside Park: This was one of our most-booked parks near Hornsea for Easter 2024, less than 15 minutes' drive from the seaside town. Part of our Evermore collection, the site offers luxurious lodges set around a 6-acre lake, with fishing, canoeing, tennis, crazy golf, bike hire and more available for the Easter holidays

The National Trust's Bodnant Garden will be open throughout the Easter holidays 2025
Rhyl and Prestatyn, Wales
The coastal resorts of Rhyl and Prestatyn in North Wales were the second most popular places for families who booked with us for Easter 2024. Loved by holidaymakers in Wales and the North West of England, both destinations are renowned for offering a classic British seaside experience. It's only 10-15 minutes to drive between the two towns. We have several great family-friendly holiday parks here, but the biggest driver of bookings in Easter 2024 was undoubtedly Talacre Beach Resort (more info below).
Events and activities in Rhyl and Prestatyn for Easter 2025:
Rhyl Miniature Railway: Rhyl is home to Britain's oldest miniature railway, which has been offering train rides around Marine Lake for over 100 years. Children and dogs are welcome onboard, and there's also a museum where you can learn about the railway's history. During the Easter holidays, trains will be up and running for the weekend of 5th-6th April, and then daily from 12th-21st April, 2025.
Manorafon Farm Park: If you're a family of animal lovers, then you won't be able to resist the baby animals at Manorafon Farm Park this spring, just down the coast from Rhyl in nearby Abergele. Visit from 12th-21st April, 2025 for The Great Easter Eggsperience, and have a go at the Easter egg hunt, meet the Easter Bunny in his grotto, plant carrot seeds in the Potting Shed and stroke baby bunnies and chicks in Pet's Corner.
Bodnant Garden: The world-famous National Trust gardens are only around half an hour's drive from Rhyl and Prestatyn, making for a fun day trip on your Easter break - especially if you tie it in with visiting Conwy and Llandudno. The gardens, meadows, arboretum and play area will all be open during the Easter holidays, and there are often special themed events like Easter egg trails, so keep checking their website for updates.
Rhyl and Prestatyn holiday parks open for Easter 2025:
Talacre Beach Resort: Our most-booked park in Wales for Easter breaks in 2024, Talacre Beach Resort is a firm favourite in our portfolio, and it isn't hard to see why. Less than 10 minutes' drive from Prestatyn Beach, the award-winning resort has been designed with families in mind. The resort features an indoor heated pool, outdoor play area, amusement arcade, live entertainment and loads of activities to keep children (and adults) busy during the Easter holidays.
Robin Hood Rhyl: Located smack bang in the middle of Rhyl and Prestatyn, Robin Hood Rhyl offers a traditional family seaside holiday on the North Wales coastline. Days out at the beach will no doubt be top of your list, but at the park itself, you can also enjoy family entertainment, play areas, tennis courts, amusements, crazy golf and more.
Silver Birch Caravan Park: Just a few minutes' drive from Prestatyn, this peaceful caravan park is an ideal home-away-from-home for your Easter break by the sea. Head out for a fun day at the beach in Rhyl or Prestatyn, or to visit attractions like the National Trust's Bodnant Garden, then come back to relax in the park's pretty gardens and woodland.
Lido Beach: Offering direct access to a sandy beach, you can waste no time in starting your Easter getaway as soon as you arrive at this family-friendly holiday park. Prestatyn is within walking distance, so you can ditch the car and head out to explore the local sites on foot if you prefer. There's a choice of spacious caravans which can sleep the whole family, including the dog.
Marine Holiday Park: This pirate-themed park is sure to be a hit with your little ones, with bags of entertainment on offer during the Easter holidays. Go swimming in the indoor tropical pool of Shipwreck Bay, grab a bite to eat in the Mermaid Café or catch a show in the Mariners Club. You can walk into Rhyl in under half an hour.

Newquay, Cornwall
Newquay, also known as the surfing capital of the UK, was the fourth most-booked location for families who stayed with us in Easter 2024, and is the second entry from Cornwall on this list. With watersports and outdoor pursuits being such a big draw to this part of the UK, the spring months see a resurgence of people flocking to the Cornish coast to make the most of the incredible beaches, of which Newquay has many. Even if it's maybe a bit cold for sunbathing, you can still don a wetsuit and try your hand at surfing or bodyboarding, and there are some beautiful coastal walks which hit the mark in every season. We've also got some great local holiday parks driving bookings here, with Piran Meadows Resort being the most popular for Easter 2024.
Events and activities in Newquay for Easter 2025:
Easter Golden Rocks Hunt: Over the Easter bank holiday weekend 2025, you can take part in the Easter Golden Rocks Hunt. Simply find one of the golden rocks hidden around Newquay and bring it back to the Visit Newquay Tourist Information Centre in return for an Easter gift.
Trerice: The National Trust's Trerice, an Elizabethen manor house only a short drive from Newquay town centre, will have some fun Easter-inspired activities for 2025. From 5th-21st April, 2025, you can pick up an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg, and explore the beautiful gardens.
Easter Egg Trail around Newquay: For a great free family activity this Easter, go to Visit Newquay Tourist Information Centre during the Easter holidays and pick up a clue sheet for the town's Easter egg trail! It's a fun and interactive way to explore the town, and you'll be rewarded with a small Easter prize at the end.
Lappa Valley: Cornwall's secret world of play and trains is a great day out for families with young kids, with its boating lake, adventure golf course, woodland walks and miniature railways which take you around the valley. There'll be even more fun over the Easter weekend, from 18th-21st April, 2025, including an Easter egg hunt and rubber duck races across the lake.
Newquay holiday parks open for Easter 2025:
Piran Meadows Resort: Part of our Go Active Breaks collection, this was one of our most-booked holiday parks for Easter 2024 in the whole of the UK. Choose from classic caravans and luxurious hot tub lodges for your Easter break - or book the premier cottage for a big family holiday. You're only 15 minutes' drive from Newquay, but you'll have to tear yourself away from all the onsite facilities and activities first, like the indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, indoor soft play area and off-road adventures.
Porth Beach Holiday Park: Both couples and families will love the location of Porth Beach Holiday Park, only 100m from Porth Beach. Known for being one of the safest swimming beaches in Cornwall, this is a great option if you're travelling with little ones for the Easter holidays, especially as you don't need to pack up the car for your day on the sand. If you do want to head into Newquay, you can get there in less than 10 minutes by car or around 30 minutes on foot.
Porth Veor: Tucked away in the tranquil Porth Cove, yet within walking distance of Newquay town centre and the iconic Watergate Bay, Porth Veor offers modern apartments and villas within the grounds of a manor hotel. The outdoor heated pool is usually open from April (weather permitting), but if you'd prefer to feel the sand between your toes, then the nearest beach is only 10 minutes' walk away.
Atlantic Reach Holiday Resort: A 15-minutes drive west from Newquay will bring you to Atlantic Reach Holiday Resort, nestled in the countryside but packed with activities. This is a great choice for an Easter break with slightly older kids and teens, as there's a dedicated Teen Den with arcade games and a pool table, plus segways, tennis courts, and a leisure complex with an indoor pool (the outdoor pool won't quite be open by Easter).
Hendra Holiday Park: If you want to stay somewhere where you have everything you need onsite, but can also experience the best of Newquay during the Easter holidays, then Hendra Holiday Park is one of our top choices. When you're not at the beach, you can spend your day at the park, riding the flumes in the indoor pool, grabbing a bite to eat from the fish and chip shop or watching a live show in The Venue.
