                Nature reserves & wildlife watching...

The Norfolk Broads are a haven for wildlife watching and nature walks, with several nature reserves and trails to choose from. Hickling Broad, one of the largest reserves in Britain, is renowned for its birdlife including marsh harriers, swallowtails and common cranes. At RSPB Strumpshaw Fen, you can walk around the reedbeds, woodlands and meadows, spotting wetland birds like kingfishers and bearded tits, and, if you’re lucky, otters!

As you explore the Norfolk Broads, you’ll find an array of picturesque waterside villages and towns to charm you. Dine at riverside pubs in Wroxham, Horning or Coltishall; take in panoramic views from the historic Ranworth Church; visit the medieval boatyard and bridge at Potter Heigham; or explore the historic windmill in Ludham. Fishing, pottery and weaving all have a significant part to play in the area’s local heritage, with historic traditions still practiced today.
