Unspoiled glens, high-rising hills, a beautiful coastline and a lively city are just some of the pleasures that await you on a break in one of our holiday cottages in Angus. The Angus Glens are justly famous as a location for some great hillwalking in unspoilt countryside. And on the coast you’ll find miles of beaches interspersed with rocky sandstone cliffs and headlands. Make time for a visit to Arbroath, famous for its “smokies” and ruined Abbey, as well as Carnoustie, with its championship golf course. Our Angus cottage holidays will also give you the chance to visit the magnificent Glamis Castle, ancestral home of the late Queen Mother and legendary setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Then it’s on to Dundee, Scotland’s fourth largest city and renowned for its marmalade, as well as being the home of the Beano and Dandy. Once a major shipbuilding and manufacturing centre, Dundee now has a burgeoning cultural centre and a lively arts scene. Don’t miss a visit to the Discovery, the ship that took Scott to the Antarctic, and to HMS Unicorn, the oldest British warship still afloat.
