A good welcome pack. From the outside the bungalow looked uninviting and unloved. The house was clean and adequate but very basic, but many items were missing. There was no butter dish or milk jug and a very limited supply of pans, bowls etc. The bedding was not ironed. The lounge was not cosy and there were no curtains.,only blinds. We felt that it certainly was not value for money.

We stayed here for 10 days & absolutely loved it. From the moment we arrived, the dog raced about the huge garden (actually...he stole the white ball, can't find it, but we replaced it with the pink one...sorry!) We had lots of room, played games at night & had the log burner going for comfort, though we were really lucky & only saw rain once. It's a very quiet location, met the neighbours who gave us plums from their tree, we had a day at Stonehaven, visited Dunottar Castle & walked down to the wee rs mccolls shop a couple of times. The cliff path down to the beach is well worth doing, but keep dogs on leads as it's very steep. It's also quite a climb back up so be prepared, but the views are spectacular. You can also access the beach down at Steptoes Yard, lge parking area & 200 yards or so to the beach which is huge & fairly quiet. Sweet Hope was warm, comfortable, plenty of storage & the welcome pack for both us & the dog was much appreciated. Lots of wildlife to be seen including the elusive hedgehog, saw him twice! Emma came over part way into our holiday as the logs were getting finished & the dryer wasn't working, but we had good weather to dry clothes outside...plenty logs to keep us going & she was very friendly. If we had any criticism, it would be that the shower is slow to drain & there's no washing basket for laundry...but well worth 5* and we will probably come back...loved it here.

Sweet hope is a home from home, it has everything you need to have a great holiday. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, set in a relaxing setting engulfed in an abundance of birds and wildlife. On a clear night it is excellent for a bit of star gazing, there are a lots of places to visit most not to far to travel. When we arrived we where left some goody's to make us feel welcome, the beach is long, clean and most of the time you have it to yourself its just a great place. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sweet Hope, We would stay longer next time. ps, The cottage is very dog friendly and enclosed.

Beautiful spacious bungalow located in a cliff top in a nature reserve. Lovely modern and clean accommodation with enty of outdoor space. We had our dachshund with us and she loved the enclosed garden where she could explore. Only missing thing for us was a bbq area but that was only a minor thing. Saw deer and a fox and plenty of variations of birds that we could view in the bungalow's binoculars.

This was honestly home from home. Awesome views and marvellous hospitality. Great walks on the beach and a lovely welcoming dog friendly pub for that well earned pint after the walk up from the sea.

What a wonderful place Sweet Hope is, everything about it is just about perfect, from the moment we pulled up on the drive (after a 6 hour drive), walked through the door into the lovely, clean and warm cottage, then walking into the living room to be met with such a magnificent view through the massive windows, then into the very well equipped kitchen to find that Emma and Joe had left us some essentials like fresh bread and milk along with a box of lovely biscuits (thank you). The bedrooms followed suit, very clean, fresh and warm. We closed the gates and let our whippet, Venus (princess!) out of the car whilst we unloaded and she was at home straight away, it's such a big enclosed garden she was able to really stretch her legs, in fact most of the time that we were actually at Sweet Hope she spent out there, and rarely wanted to come back in! All in all Emma and Joe have made Sweet Hope into a very special cottage, and we will certainly be booking another holiday here in the near future. The only negative was having to leave for home on the following Saturday, and Princess Venus has been in a sulk ever since
