With a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living area, it has a contemporary feel and plenty of space to relax in. The huge bathroom is a great sanctuary for a relaxing bath or invigorating shower and the attractive bedroom boasts a lovely comfy bed with crisp sheets. The apartment also has a separate room for laundry, which is ideal for dogs and drying any wet clothes after a day out exploring.
The owner can provide catering packs for the first evening and first morning on request, including a breakfast pack (£10) or a dinner pack (£15). The owner will leave coffees, teas, cereals, farmhouse bread, butter, marmalade and jams, together with fruit and yogurt in the kitchen, along with bacon and eggs. They can also leave a homemade supper (main course and pudding) for heating up in the apartment.

There is a huge variety of wildlife to be seen, including red squirrels, woodpeckers, owls and ospreys, whilst the river Southesk is home to salmon and even freshwater pearls. Within the immediate grounds of the castle there are many paths laid out for guests, leading to follies and fine views on the way to the river and estate lake.
