Nestled in a tranquil 98 acre valley teeming with wildlife, Clawford Lakes is a truly unique getaway less than 30 minutes from Bude and Cornwall’s dog friendly beaches. Here, nature and luxury blend beautifully, offering something special for every kind of holiday.
Part of Hoseasons’ exclusive Magnificent Collection, Clawford Lakes is centred around 17 sparkling lakes and features an eclectic mix of premium accommodation including Floating Lodges, Luxury Cocoons, Lake Pods, Apartments, Holiday Homes and stylish Lodges.
The resort has been thoughtfully laid out in distinctive areas:
The Orchard lodges and the apartments enjoy level terrain and are ideally placed for easy access to the resort’s central facilities (reception, restaurant/bar, spa, and leisure lake).
The Meadows lodges and holiday homes are the furthest away from the resort’s central facilities; set on higher ground, offering a peaceful and elevated setting with far reaching countryside views.
The Willows holiday Homes stretch across the south side of the valley, with spectacular vistas over the rolling North Devon landscape.
The Lake pods, Heron Lodge and Retreats, Oaks Lodges and Holiday homes, Floating Lodges and Cocoons are also located along the south side of the resort between the central facilities and The Meadows – the studio Lake pods are the closest to the central facilities; the Cocoons are the most elevated.
Every stay includes access to a generous range of leisure activities. Try your hand at archery, or paddle boarding, kayaking and open water swimming in the Leisure Lake. Take life more peacefully with a fishing lesson, relax poolside or take a swim in the 25-metre heated outdoor pool (with a depth throughout of 1.1 metres), or up the pace on our three outdoor flumes. The outdoor pool and flumes are open from 1st May to mid-September and October Half Term, weather permitting.
To maintain the tranquillity of the resort, the outdoor pool and flumes are at the far end of the activity / dog walking field (the furthest distance from the central facilities, a 15-minute leisurely stroll from the main reception. Parking is available for blue badge holders).
With 16 fishing lakes stocked with 11 species including carp now over 36lb, Clawford Lakes is a dream destination for anglers of all levels. Fishing passes* are available to either be added prior or during your stay, and the friendly Clawford team is always nearby to offer tips and advice.
Little ones will love the Park Ranger sessions and seasonal entertainment during school holidays, while four legged friends can make the most of miles of walking trails and a dedicated dog paddling lake.
Wellness with a View - Escape to tranquillity at the Lake Spa, where an indoor infinity pool, steam room and spa lounge offer breathtaking views over the Leisure Lake. Guests can also enhance their break with a simple treatment* or add on packages from just £59 per person, choosing from a selection of indulgent treatments delivered by expert therapists.
For laid back dining, enjoy a takeaway from The Hungry Heron food truck or unwind at the Apple & Grape restaurant, where delicious locally sourced dishes are served with a view. Toast the sunset on the terrace and watch the valley transform as the evening settles in.
Whether you’re looking for peace and privacy, romantic break, family adventure, or a dog friendly escape, Clawford Lakes is your perfect base to slow down, reconnect and breathe in the beauty of Devon.
