This characterful cottage is nestled in the quaint village of Ebberston in North Yorkshire, between Scarborough on the coast which is just a 20-minute drive away and the picturesque market town of Pickering on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Standing for over 200 years beside the village church, this delightful cottage is in a charming village location complete with a friendly little pub nearby. The cottage boasts an incredible large enclosed garden, bursting in colour throughout spring and summer, with a seating area so that you can dine al fresco or simply bask in the sunshine as you take in your surroundings.
Pickering is just a short drive away, where you can catch the steam train across the stunning national park to the historical coastal town of Whitby. Famous for its abbey and the 199 steps leading up to it, Whitby is full of charm, with cobbled streets and alleyways, a bustling harbour, cosmopolitan café and bistros. It is also famous for the Whitby Jet jewellery, where you’ll find lots of jewellers creating beautiful bespoke items. The seaside resorts of Filey and Scarborough are just a short drive away. Scarborough is the larger of the two resorts, with a very long promenade that you can walk on, from the north to the south bay, where the castle stands proud on the headland dividing the two bays.
There are donkey rides, amusements, the Sealife centre, a waterpark with a spa, and Peasholm Park, an oriental themed municipal park also host to the largest outdoor theatre in Europe. Filey is a much quieter resort, with a large sandy beach perfect for families. Or for a big day out York is perfect all year round, with a fascinating history to discover. Visit one of the many museums, or perhaps Castle Howard. Whether you want to visit the Yorkshire Wolds, North Yorkshire Moors or the east coast you are perfectly placed.
