    Tidy cottage ideal for family and room for 2 children downstairs in the converted cellar! We’ve stayed here 3 times now. Excellent location, and nicely tucked away behind Easedale Lodge. Chinese and local bakers just next door. A few minor points: Could do with some new tiles on the kitchen floor, as some are cracked, sharp and loose. Extractor fan in the main en-suite very noisy.

    Just returned from a lovely weekend here with some friends, ideal location for all areas of the Lakes, could not fault the cleanliness and the beds very comfortable. The only very small gripe we had was the comfort of the sofas but I do think that depends on a persons size/ height and it would not stop us from stopping here again. Would highly recommend.

    We had a lovely holiday at West View and would highly recommend both the cottage and Ambleside. I think the only thing I would add is if the owners could provide bath and hand towels as this would make things easier for guests. Other than that we were very happy.

    Fantastic holiday house in a perfect loacation! Equipped with everything you could ever need. Was a little worried about the parking after reading the instructions but when we got there and worked it out, it wasn’t a problem at all. We had a brilliant week in Ambleside!

    West View and Ambleside was a good choice as a base for our holiday in the Lake District. The property is well kept, has everything you need and is presented really well. Ambleside has almost everything you need with exception of a large supermarket. This isn't much of a problem as Windermere (15 minutes drive) has a Booths supermarket or you can shop online and have it delivered the day you arrive as we did. Bus routes to most locations and connections in the Lake District are just a 2 minute walk up the road which is really handy for the days you don't want to use the car. You also have walks that start from Ambleside or very close by which was also useful. Only negative was the narrow access to parking. Not a problem as such if you know the size of your car and once you've figured out angles for reversing out of the space it's not a problem, just a word of warning!
