    The accommodation is all on ground floor level has electric panel heaters and comprises:
    Open plan lounge / dining / kitchen
    Lounge / dining area:  with satellite Freeview TV, DVD and radio/CD,   A lovely space with exposed stone wall, good sized dining table and kitchen separated by breakfast bar
    Kitchen area:  with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice-box and washer / dryer
    Bedroom:  with double bed
    Shower room:  with shower cubicle, WC and wash basin

    All electricity included.  Bed linen and towels provided. Wi-fi available (A small charge of £5 for the use is payable to the owner)

    Patio area with outdoor furniture. Set in 2.5 acres of owner’s landscaped woodland grounds. Off road parking for 1 car. NB: Burn in grounds and sloping hills lead down to river below. .

    Achaneich Stable Cottage stands in the grounds of an historic Highland house which dates back to 1600. Set in 2 ½ acres of landscaped gardens with the Grey Corries and Aonach Mor providing a dramatic backdrop, this delightful cottage provides an exceptionally high standard of accommodation for 2 in a spectacular and peaceful location. The cottage is believed to have been built by General Wade during the Jacobite rebellion to house his troops, with horses accommodated below. The cottage has been sympathetically converted whilst retaining some charming original features, such as a superb exposed stone in the main living area, vaulted ceiling and original arrow-slit windows. The open-plan lounge/dining room is separated from the kitchen area by a modern breakfast bar. The pretty double bedroom has fitted wardrobes and enjoys lovely views across the beautiful woodland gardens. Visitors are welcome to wander the garden grounds, and the caring owners even provide croquet on the lawn and various other outdoor children’s games during the summer months. Achaneich Stable cottage is ideally situated for exploring this renowned area of the Highlands, known as the ‘outdoor capital of the UK’.

    Lovely cottage. We had an excellent week. Only one slight problem; the bathroom window leaked slightly, the bedroom one less so.
