A wonderful homely country cottage, Acorn Barn is well thought out and very well equipped with lots of lovely personal touches.
We had a lovely weekend, great location for peace and quiet and relaxation but close enough to the coast for a day trip. Seeing the barn owl at dusk was a bonus.

We’ve just enjoyed a 3 night stay in acorn cottage, it’s so cosy and set in a very private bit of land, the lady who owns the barn is lovely, she rang to meet us there so she could explain how to work everything and showed us all the leaflets, she has some horses that she keeps on the land but unfortunately we didn’t see them as the weather had made the land too wet for them to stay over the weekend, it’s surrounded by beautiful wildlife, we sat and watched the different kinds of birds feeding for ages, it’s in the middle of nowhere and the nearest pub is one mile away which is also an Indian restaurant and takeaway, it’s very good food! The shop is a drive away so go well equipt! We had a drive to York and went to the York dungeons which took about 50 mins the next day we went to brid which took about an hour.
The barn is super clean and the beds are very comfortable! There’s a lovely attic room upstairs with dressing room and en-suite with a bath, down stairs a double bedroom and a twin room with a large bathroom! The kitchen is well equipped and there’s an iron upstairs.
Lovely warm cottage in a good location it was lovely watching the birds in the garden and feeding the two lovely little ponies that belonged to the owner the only downside was the kitchen being small but it was well equipped i would love to stay there's again
Very comfortable, warm and welcoming.
