    Amazing place

    out of 10

A spacious cottage with four good sized bedrooms. There is a very large kitchen and a good sized dining room. There are two sitting rooms. We had 5 adults in our party and we all fitted into one sitting room. The other sitting room is the same size but had no TV. The hot tub is excellent and the two bathrooms are modern and have great showers, one has a bath. There is a downstairs toilet and a laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier. The cottage is needing redecorated as it is showing signs of wear and tear but the heating is excellent and we were never cold. There is also plenty hot water. The kitchen is quite well equipped but no coffee or tea pot. There are two hoovers but no attachments and no dust pan to get the swept up dirt away. Cleaning products were not supplied so we bought a surface cleaner, not a major issue. Dish washer and American style fridge freezer both new . The range cooker was a great size but old and took a while to heat things in the oven. There is a microwave too. The linen and towels are supplied so that was a bonus. Duvets and covers could do with replacing but they were clean and fresh. A quiet location with a small supermarket within 2 miles. Stranraer was about 9 miles away and had all the big supermarkets. We didn’t go to the nearby pub so cannot comment. We would go back and we all enjoyed our stay at Kelbrook. Stuart the owner was very nice, he stopped by to see us and when the smoke alarm developed a fault he sent someone within an hour to fix it.

Cottage was nice overall, however a lot of light bulbs need changing, was quite dusty in some areas. There was also signs of damp in a few areas. Also description states it has a smart tv but it hasnt, not a big deal just think it shouldn't advertise it as having one.

The house was big enough and reasonably well equipped. Too many light bulbs needed changing and the bedding and towels need replacing. The fire and hot tub were lovely. The welcome pack was a nice gesture.

The property was large and spacious, the showers were great! Maybe think about thicker duvets for winter, but overall the place was fab and we loved the hot tub!

This has the potential to be a nice holiday cottage but it was sadly lacking in facilities, needed a good clean and was very scruffy. Basic things like no hooks to hang coats up on, only 4 coat hangers and only two wardrobes (two of the bedrooms had no wardrobes), no signal in the TV in the main living room (the TV in the other room did work), no logs or facilities for lighting the fire (important as the central heating boiler was not working when we arrived (when flagged to the owner he simply gave us the number of a plumber and told us to light a fire), no oven gloves, cheese grater, chopping board or place mats, no tourist information. We had to clean the kitchen cupboards, the kitchen floor was sticky, the bedding smelt of Fabreze rather cleanliness and was very poor quality, the paint on some of the ceilings was peeling off. The gate was hanging off its hinges and there was an old boiler in the garden. I could go on. We did not try the hot tub. Dog owners note : the garden is not secure.

Lovely cottage, would have been perfect if we hadn’t had problems with the boiler. Had to contact the owner a number of times as it kept shutting down. Fortunately it wasn’t too cold at the time and there was an electric shower. Just an inconvenience when you want to chill for the week.

we all enjoyed the holiday & the property was all of the below it was great and we will being going back it was not long enough it was GREAT thanks + 2 t v spot on .

Nice hot tub, owner was on hand to help and deal with any issues, kitchen was not as well equiped as other holiday cottages we have stayed. Great location with amazing views from the hot tub during the day and on a clear night there are so many stars visable. The property could do with a information pack as we were unsure what to do with rubbish etc

    out of 10

not as advertised . barbeque unusable , hot tub broken , bedding cheep and nasty .1 tea towel for all week , no towels for hot tub use . no holiday information pack , I could go on and on .

Arrived at the cottage that had not been cleaned after the previous visitors, and no heating. This was rectified after numerous phone calls and apologies. Hot tub situated at the backside of the cottage with no easy access from the house, so a long walk from the door to the hot tub, not ideal. Cottage sleeps 8 however only 3 chairs with the outside furniture , again not ideal.

We picked this cottage because it's hot tub. However when we arrived there was no water in the hot tub .... This cottage is in need of TCL . There had been no heating on for about a month boy did we know that it took until the next day for the house to properly heat up . The water pressure is also an issue in the upstairs bathrooms if you can get the water to go hot . We had the worst time ever if it was not the case we had 3 grandchildren with us I would have gone home within the first 10 mins of entering the house I could not do that to the kids they had been super excited for this trip in all it was really disappointing.
