    Kitchen/dining room: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

    First Floor:
    Bedroom 1: With double bed.
    Bedroom 2: With double bed.
    Bathroom: With bath, shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.

    Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Welcome pack.

    As soon as you arrive at Apple Tree Cottage you’ll know you’ve made a great choice. Just stand at the bottom of this beautifully manicured and well thought out garden looking back towards the cottage and you’ll think you’ve just picked up a post card from the local gift shop. This terraced cottage gets its name from the mature apple tree in the garden, which in season provides a harvest of plump fruit which guests are welcome to enjoy. Guests will love the stylish décor and thought which has gone into the interior design. Fully refurbished and newly listed for 2018, Apple Tree Cottage has all the modern amenities you need for 21st century living without losing any of the authentic character and charm that this delightful cottage delivers.
    This quiet village location means that you can escape and retreat to the countryside in no time. On the first floor you’ll find two bright bedrooms and a family bathroom, making it perfect for two couples and also great for families, whilst downstairs features a well-equipped kitchen and spacious living room. Relaxing in the living room you can enjoy great views out to the lovely garden where you can often see birds feeding and even red squirrels which help themselves to the monkey nuts from the feeder. The enclosed lawned garden is a great place to soak up the sunshine complete with plenty of colour in the rockery and flower beds and best of all, provides easy access to the village pub via the garden gate. You are just 100 yards from a range of local cask ales and great food that bring a refreshing reward after a day of adventure in the countryside. Whether you like walking, hiking or cycling, you are never too far away from your next adventure. There is good access to plenty of walking and cycle routes nearby as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra to name a few.
    Just 2 miles away is The Lake District Wildlife Park with over 100 species of wild animals, great fun for the family. Also nearby is The Lakes Distillery, offering tasting tours and are producers of fine whisky, gin and vodka, always a hit with the adults. The cottage is just 8 miles from the popular town of Keswick on the shores of Derwentwater, with an abundance of dining and shopping experiences. The Pencil Museum is home to the world’s largest pencil, and The Theatre by the Lake offers award winning arts and drama and the mind-boggling world of The Puzzling Place is fun for all ages. Or why not take a trip to Cockermouth, 8 miles, the birthplace of William Wordsworth. Beach 17 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

    We enjoyed our stay in Apple Tree. The owners were very helpful and welcoming and would have no problem recommending the cottage.

    The cottage is well maintained, clean and comfortable. The kitchen has all you need, there is even an ironing board but no iron. The stairs to upstairs are a challenge for anybody with mobility issues being quite steep and shallow. The garden is well kept and is a sun trap when the sun shines. There is no back door. We were welcomed by the owner who left us with bread, eggs, marmalade, jam, milk , butter and a bottle of cava and a fruit cake. The village is quiet but does have a popular pub which was always busy with people eating whenever we popped in. The nearest shop is at the camping site which is a ten to fifteen minute walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Lovely cottage. Modern decor,but very monochrome. Needs some colour added as grey everything became depressing as it was cloudy outside all week. Beds were comfortable. Needs roller blind at bathroom door for privacy. Dvd hummed when playing. Garden tidy and relaxing. Ideal for walks from cottage.

    Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Greeted by owner who explained everything about the property. Welcome hamper was a lovely treat. Good powerful shower after a long walk!!!!

    Excellent cottage, very well appointed. Spotlessly clean and everything one needs is there. The hosts were very friendly and there was an attractive welcome basket, including some fresh eggs, bread and milk (very useful since we forgot to take any with us). A quiet and peaceful part of the Lakes, well away from the honeypots and crowds, yet only 15 minutes from Keswick. The garden is well cared for and attractive..a lovely place to sit in when the weather is good. The Sun Inn is just next door, and serves good quality pub food, if a little expensive. There is no village shop, but Booths supermarket in Keswick is excellent. One watch out in the cottage is the stairs, which are quite steep and could be problematic for anyone with impaired mobility. Overall an ideal bolt-hole. Would we go again? Definitely!

    We received a very warm welcome at Apple Tree Cottage from the owner and a delicious welcome pack. The cottage was clean and cosy. Local pub at the bottom of the garden gate served lovely food and had friendly staff. Gorgeous garden made the outlook private. Only tiny negatives the shower was not great, but water pressure in the country my husband tells me isn't great generally. Second bedroom a little snug but this didn't matter to us as just 2 of us staying. Would definately recommend.

    Lovely cottage, great facilities, great location, pub a minutes walk but nearest shop in Keswick 5-10 min drive. Lovely accommodating and welcoming hosts, would recommend the cottage to anyone without hesitation

    A very stylishly furnished, and thoughtfully equipped cottage with a most helpful and welcoming owner and a generous welcome pack. We appreciated the high quality solid wood and antique furniture, and almost every kind of catering equipment. A good selection of local books and maps. The location (and garden) is peaceful, pretty and off the main tourist tracks but within easy reach of popular (and more remote) places.
