    > Nestled in the tiny hamlet of Brigham, these former farm buildings date back to the 1700s and have been lovingly converted to provide wonderful holiday homes. All of the properties feature cosy underfloor heating as well as welcoming wood-burning stoves - ideal for those cooler evenings. Especially suitable for families with young children, the cottages have been individually decorated - each having been carefully designed. Outside, there are shared one-acre landscaped grounds to enjoy, with seating and a charcoal barbecue outside each cottage, which makes a perfect place for a summer picnic.

Ideal for families, as children and adults alike can enjoy farm life, gathering eggs for breakfast and feeding the friendly sheep, ponies, goats and guinea pigs on the children’s farm. For older children there is shared use of a games room with a full-size snooker table and table tennis, whilst for the younger ones, a large sand pit, pedal tractors, trailers and diggers and various outdoor games are available. Within the locality there are also a number of golf courses, and riding stables are 10 miles away. Set alongside the Driffield Canal, it is the perfect location for those who enjoy ‘messing about on the river’, as there is a small jetty for those who wish to bring their own canoes or small boats.

Brigham village is noted in the Domesday Book and lies as a sleepy hamlet, yet just a few miles distant is the historical market town of Driffield. Delightful York (30 miles) is always a pleasure to visit, with plenty to do and see for the whole family. The magnificent minster dominates the city, which is full of quaint shops, restaurants and pubs. Together with the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum, this historic city makes for an entertaining day out.

For lovers of the outdoors, there are numerous walks for all standards incuding gentle strolls along the banks of the canal, coastal walks or taking in the magnificent scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds. The beaches of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey are easily accessible, and Hornsea with its ‘Freeport Shopping Centre’ is also well worth a visit. The area boasts a number of stately homes, as well as theatres and cinemas. Shop within 2½ miles. Several pubs/restaurants within 3 miles.

Meadow View (IJV), The Byre (IJW), The Stable (IJX), The Granary (IJY) can be booked together to accommodate up to 20 guests and are suitable for families, whilst allowing privacy of their own accommodation.

This was a lovely place to stay in a nice, quiet, rural location. There were lots of touches to make the accommodation family-friendly, such as provision of a travel cot, highchair and plastic bowls, cutlery etc in the cottage. Our little boy enjoyed seeing the animals and running around on the big field. My main suggestion for improvement would be the addition of blackout blinds or curtains in the bedroom. On a summer evening in late June, the bedroom was still in daylight with the thin curtains drawn. Our 14-month old, who is used to going to sleep in the dark, was upset and took a very long time to go to sleep. If travelling with little ones, I'd recommend taking one of those stick-on blinds to darken the room to avoid the same problem. Otherwise this was a lovely weekend break.

The Stable was everything we hoped for and more - located in a small hamlet, but with various size towns within driving distance, it was quiet but accessible. It was a real 'home away from home' with everything you could need - washing machine, dishwasher, TV & DVD, bath with jets, shower etc. The Games Room on site was a real eye-opener - a full size snooker table (fortunately with rules!), pool, table football and an enormous DVD library you could borrow from to watch back on your sofa. There were numerous homely touches to welcome us as well - Christmas decorations in the courtyard, not to mention a tree and decorations in the lounge, and some mince pies, Celebration chocolates and even a bottle of wine greeting us in the kitchen. It really was a great location and just what we needed to relax after the stress of Christmas with the family ;-)

Excellent in every way for a couple with a vehicle. Owners extremely pleasant and helpful. Rural setting on a farm with animals very suitable for peace and quiet. Facilities for young children, although we had none with us, are best we've ever seen for this type of self-catering accommodation.
