Coniston has a good variety of places to eat, most serving food throughout the day and into the evening and a great selection of Lakeland pubs within walking distance of the cottage, including the home of the award winning Bluebird Bitter which is produced at the micro-brewery in the village. There are local shops for all of your provisions including an excellent butcher for fell bred Cumbrian steaks and lamb. The newsagents will even have your papers delivered!!
Carries Gate offers really comfortable accommodation whatever the time of the year you choose to visit. The multi fuel stove is a great focal point in the cosy lounge, especially for tired dogs to snooze in front of after a hard days walk, and yet the view across Coniston Water from the front windows is really never far away and can prove quite mesmerising!
