While the cottage decor is dated and needs some TLC, it has bags of charm and character in stunning grounds and setting. Lovely hosts that made us feel very welcome with the dining table set up and a gift of shortbread. A basket of logs ready and free for the wood burner. While it was not needed due to the warm weather it did add to the ambience and made the cottage very cosy indeed. Sadly, while we could link to the internet there was no download speed at all and limited free view TV channels as in a bad reception spot throughout the village, including no mobile reception. The bed and lounge furniture needed updating as it very well worn and not overly comfortable. There was a very stronge mustiness to the property, which did ease a bit with open windows however the weather was warm. In our opinion, we do feel that the property needs to be redecorated throughout.

Fantastic cottage in the charming village of Cerne Abbas, located on the grounds of a former abbey. Very friendly owners and quiet surroundings. Great for exploring Dorset and the Jurassic Coast, ideal for walking and a romantic getaway. Only small downside (for me): low water pressure in the shower.

We really enjoyed our stay and the overall rating is only 8 because of the weak internet access and older equipment . The location , owners etc were first class and we enjoyed the quiet location.

We had a lovely relaxing stay in this quiet part of the country. The village is unspoilt, with a very well-stocked shop and two pubs, which both serve good food. The countryside is on the doorstep. The town of Dorchester is nearby for shopping.

The cottage is situated in the old abbey grounds in the charming village of Cerne Abbas. It is very quiet and tranquil, a wonderful place to escape from the pressures of everyday life - no phone signal!! We enjoyed visits to Weymouth, Bridport, Monkey World, Yeovil and Sherborne returning to a cosy evening beside the wood burner. We were made to feel very welcome, both at the cottage by the owners and in the village. The village shop and P.O. was amazing - I really believe it sells everything. A great holiday!!
