Unfortunately the cottage was not as clean as we would have expected, lots of dog hair on carpets and rugs, sand in shower and pots and pans needed a clean before use. However, we didn't let this spoil our enjoyment of the area. The setting itself was ideal, being very quiet with lots of local amenities. Northumberland is a beautiful area, unspoilt and when we were there very quiet. I would stay at Bluebell Farm again and would hope to find it cleaner.

My little Yorkshire Terrier and I spent a memorable 5 days based at Cheviot Cottage at the beginning of June. The cottage was in a wonderful country setting and within walking distance to Belford shops and pubs. The Black Swan is particularly dog friendly! Cheviot cottage and several other cottages form part of Bluebell farm and a small caravan site with lots of birds including turkey, geese , goslings and rabbits running free! At first they were a little challenging for my terrier to investigate a little too closely but he was kept on a sturdy harness/ lead and grew to love the site as much as I did. Cheviot cottage is managed well and the owners were helpful and friendly and the setting makes a wonderful base from which to visit all the stunning local beaches including Bamburgh, Beadnell and Budle Bay. Holy Island is not far by car as is the lovely town of Berwick.

Cobwebs on outside railings could have been swept and landing swept but still enjoyed our time especially with wildlife around.
