• About Cloverleaf

Close to coast Perfect for a relaxing break, these two lovingly converted barns, with countryside views from the bedroom, nestle peacefully on the national nature reserve at Saltfleetby, just 100 yards from the sand dunes and 15 minutes’ walk from the coast at Rimac and Saltfleet. Cosy, comfortable and enjoying their own individual gardens, they offer a delightful holiday base on the fringes of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds. Bird watching, walking, cycling on quiet country lanes, and seal watching at Dona Nook are all popular activities here, and the gloriously unspoilt coastline’s quaint seaside resorts such as Sutton on Sea and Anderby Creek are well worth exploring, whilst Mablethorpe and Skegness provide plenty of family fun. Pretty market towns (nearby Louth is a real gem), antiques hunting in Horncastle and racing at Market Rasen are all within an easy drive as is the city of Lincoln with its cobbled streets, castle, cathedral and famous Christmas market. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful private garden. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and warm. We had lovely weather during our stay and made good use of the garden. The owners are very hospitable but not intrusive. The cottage is well placed for the seaside at Mablethorpe and Skegness and there are dog-friendly beaches at Threddlethorpe and Moggs Eye. The cottage is situated on the edge of a nature reserve and includes the saltmarsh dunes which are great for dog walking and bird watching. Our Labrador loved the walks. All-in-all a great holiday location.

This is a lovely little cottage that is exceptionally well equipped, and as we visited in March it was importantly also nice and cosy. We were warmly welcomed, the cottage was spotlessly clean and there were scones and jam provided for tea. Good location, easy to find with nice walks on door step for dog. The fully enclosed garden is perfect for letting the dog out too. I expect to visit again before too long

Great little cottage right next to miles of walks along salt marsh and sea. Fortunately the weather treated us kindly and being out of season we had an easy time when visiting pubs for lunch and parking in nearby towns. We would have preferred not to have had to use the car so much to shop/eat out but the noise free isolation was superb. We were lucky to be so close to the Donna Nook seal sanctuary where the breeding season was in full swing.

This was our first experience of a cottage holiday as previously we had our own towing caravan. Due to some health problems it had become difficult to cope with all the physical efforts needed to set up our van - particularly if it was raining! We realised that we needed something easier to use ( we're both getting older! ) and we wanted somewhere that was dog friendly, so a cottage seemed to be what we were looking for. The welcome and support from Annette during our stay was wonderful and we were made to feel 'at home'. To say that we were delighted with Clover Cottage would be an understatement. Everything was perfect. The only problem we can see is that having set the bar so high can we find anything to match it for our next holiday?

Cloverleaf is in a stunning location for a quiet break. Only minutes from the salt marsh footpath. Turn left and after 1.5 mile you reach Saltfleet and the magnificent Haven Beach. Miles and miles of sand and sea with virtually no one else present, even on a weekend and bank holiday. Turn right on the coastal path by the holiday cottage and again you will find a lovely walk along the beach right to Mablethorpe. Approximately 5 miles but such flat walking you hardly notice the miles. You need to drive to eat out or purchase essentials but it doesn't take long to get anywhere on these largely empty roads. Lovely promenade from Sutton on sea to Sandilands, very good for cyclists. Go into Louth, a lovely town. It's also well worth a visit to Gibralter Point. The cottage itself was lovely and boasts a pretty secure garden. We sat out eating most nights and watched the most beautiful sunset. The owners live next door but are not intrusive. They were very helpful. Lincolnshire was a great surprise on our first visit. It has a very natural beauty and unlike Cornwall not spoilt by hoards of people, even on a bank holiday weekend. Where else in England can you walk alone on a beautiful sandy beach watching two seals swimming yards from where you are strolling. Wonderful
