Surrounded by peaceful countryside, yet just 5 miles from the bustling city of York, Murton Grange is perfectly located to enjoy the best of both worlds. The traditional farmhouse and eight cottages are comfortably furnished and ideal for large group bookings (including hen and stag parties). Five of the properties include a private hot tub and guests are requested to bring their own towels for use with the hot tub.
There are walking trails from the doorstep and easy access into the city centre. York offers all year round appeal, with world-renowned attractions including the iconic minster, Castle Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre. There is a busy racecourse at the Knavesmire and regular festivals and Christmas markets. Enjoy a riverboat trip, join a ghost walk or take a stroll around the city walls. An abundance of inns, restaurants and traditional teashops can be found in the city centre which is packed with interesting and individual shops, and the Designer Outlet, Vangarde and Monks Cross provide excellent out of town shopping.
Murton Grange provides an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area where there are stately homes at Castle Howard, Beningbrough Hall and Sledmere House. The coastal towns of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby are all within an hour’s drive. Shop 3½ miles, pub and restaurant 2¼ miles.
