Perfect. Exactly what we were looking for. An escape to the country, away from the madding crowd in a very lovely spacious converted barn with total privacy. The place was surprisingly warm and cosy when we arrived despite the stormy elements prevailing. The heating was excellent for even the chilliest, wet weather that February could throw at us. Everything you could need was supplied down to the last detail. The huge games room was brilliant for the kids and adults alike with a full size table tennis table, pool, darts and plenty of settees and chairs by a log burner. Perfect place for party time. All around the barn there are delightful sitting areas with lovely views from the French windows where you can enjoy a bit of privacy in addition to the main lounge and the massive dining kitchen is a joy (baking equipment supplied). The surrounding countryside is beautiful and unspoilt. The local pub, The Highwayman is really great and very welcoming, and is also dog friendly which is a real bonus. Excellent food. We all enjoyed our stay at Cowdber Barn, wished it was for longer and plan to return there. This is simply perfect for family get togethers. Highly recommended.

The Barn is situated up a long uneven muddy road. This is a large property and some of the furnishings are showing their age. The log fire was nice and cosy and the kitchen facilities are good. The beds could have been more comfortable and could possibly need changing . The pool table is a child,s pool table and needs attention and repair. In bad weather conditions rain penetrated through some of the doors , making the carpets wet. Had to contact hoseasons as the owner didn't respond to requests of checkin procedure .

We have been to this cottage on a number of occasions and always have a great time. There is plenty of space for adults and children. It is not the most luxurious but is comfortable and relaxing with a good level of equipment. The access road is quite pot-holed and can be quite a challenge. The surrounding area is beautiful for cycling and walking: Kirkby Lonsdale is only 5 mins away and has a fantastic range of shops and restaurants. The local pub at the bottom of the drive "The Highwayman" does good food and is an added bonus.

An amazing barn conversion. Brought up in the local area but moved south, brought family up for their first visit to the area. Everyone was amazed and how nice the barn was and the fact it was set away slightly. Amazing scenery nearby and awesome location for both the dales and the lakes. Great set up in the barn and plenty of space for 10-11 people not to be under each other’s feet. Electric hob takes a bit of getting used to, but everything else was great. Will definitely be booking again.

A bit tired. Central heating radiators in old part of building did not function, regardless of the boiler fully working and supplying more than enough hot water. Farm track to the property was challenging, given the heavy rain that we experienced. Too wet to do any serious walking.

The road leading to the cottage is pitted and unmade. (SO WHAT) The beauty at the end of the road over-rides this big time, the remote location with fantastic views, the cottage itself is an absolute joy, everything you could ever want or need is provided, the huge kitchen/diner is perfect for family groups, spacious, comfortable and log fires, wonderful.

A very very cosy atmosphere and a rural peaceful setting which we was looking for the only thing we was a bit disappointed with was the games room which could have had a better pool table otherwise faultless

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Cowdber Barn, there was plenty of space and the games room was a great hit with the kids (and adults!). My only negative would be that there's only 1 double bed and the cleanliness wasn't to the highest standard. That being said we had the best time and would definitely be back.

Super property for large group. Our family have had a get together several times at Cowdber Barn. Courtyard and small rear garden. Very secluded, apart from sheep in adjoining fields. All facilities and equipment you could need. Fantastic large games room. Some stone steps in the property. Good bedrooms and bathrooms. Thoroughly recommended.
