A lovely place to stay in a perfect location to get out and about in the North York Moors. Very quiet village. The cottage has everything you need and was warm and comfortable.

We had a lovely week in Rosedale Abbey, the house was in a good location only a short walk to the local pub and Graze on the green. We were a short drive from Whitby and the coast and within easy reach of other visitor attractions. I would definitely visit again.

Wonderful comfy cottage in a pretty village with tea rooms and a shop. Handy for visiting Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.

Overall a lovely time had by all, the local pub the coach house inn serves excellent home cooked food we ate there 3 times and you can easily walk to it! Downsides, sofas in lounge not comfortable, dining table and chairs are made from metal and chairs extremely heavy to lift and need new seat cushions. The bathrooms were all very tired, the en-suite in the room we stayed in was very disappointing due to the sealant being mouldy, to replace this wouldn’t take long or cost much but would considerably improve its look! Likewise for the flooring, is a wooden laminate which isn’t wearing well with the water from the shower! Carpet in the small bedrooms bathroom too, very u hygienic!! Beds extremely comfortable and great sleep had all round! Some instructions for the appliances would be useful as the information book I think had been there since the first booking and didn’t really contain anything useful!

Lovely cottage, lovely location. The cafe ‘Graze on the Green’ is amazing for both food (cakes were outstanding!) and cosiness. The White Horse Sunday carvery was well worth the walk up the hill, as the food and the view were both wonderful. There is no other menu served on Sunday, which was fine by us but not clear until we asked. The village shop is useful but expensive and limited, so don’t rely on it for shopping. One thing: the single beds need new mattresses or even just thick toppers as you can feel the springs.

Lovely cottage and great village right in the middle of the North York Moors with easy access to coast and Dolby Forest. Lovely place, beginning to look a little worn in places. 1 of the bedrooms smelt of damp a little and 2 of the toilets out of order when we went (there was an apology from the cleaner). This makes the price seem a bit steep if not kept to high standard. Still lovely place and will look to go again.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely village with a few good local country pubs. Whitby not too far away by car. Excellent kitchen facilities, really comfy beds and lovely bedding. Plenty of fresh towels. Stayed here twice now.

Excellent accommodation. Only marked down on equipment because I couldn’t find a hairdryer which would have been useful. I look forward to returning to this property in the future.

Delightful cottage in a delightful setting. Everything was thought of with regard to facilities and contents, and it was really clean everywhere. There were one or two minor issues - the single room's shower could have done with an update, and it did smell a little musty, plus the single beds did not have particularly comfortable mattresses. But generally everything was a high standard, with lots of interesting pictures and knick-knacks to make it feel homely. And always loads of hot water! One important point - there is absolutely no phone signal (from O2 at least)! In fact there is no signal for quite an area around the village - perhaps to be expected out in the country. There is a pay phone, which only seemed to take 10p pieces, and really good WiFi everywhere in the house. The surrounding countryside is stunning, and loads of places to see and things to do. Tons of leaflets available in the house which helped! Worth a visit.

Lovely cottage with plenty of space for the four of us. Everything we needed was supplied, nice warm property with plenty of spare bedding, if needed. The only minor problem, was the sofas, as we are all in our late 60s, we found them a bit low to get out of but that's our age.

Very pleasant stay in a lovely location - Generally Crown Gardens is a very nice property comfortable and well equipped albeit there are one or two maintenance issues at the moment. The oven in particular needs a clean, the door to the double bedroom at the rear of the property does not close, a door stop may be useful, the shower in the single room has, or has had, a leak which has left an unpleasant odour in the room, there is clearly damp from this evident in the garage ceiling.
