Our hoasts couldn’t have been more welcoming and the property was lovely with everything you could possibly need. It is of no surprise that they tell me that they get booked throughout the year. Would recommend to anybody. We will hopefully return. Dave Sue Peter & Dawn

The owner was very welcoming but then left us to enjoy our stay (making it clear we could contact him if needed). The property itself was clean and there were some lovely touches such as a fabulous Christmas tree! My husband and I were staying at the cottage along with his Mum & Dad, and we were joined on Christmas day by 2 other adults and their baby. We had everything we needed for a pleasant stay and to cook dinner. The only slight issue was the fact the beds in both bedrooms were up against the wall, making it quite awkward to get in and out. Wouldn't stop us staying again, but something others may need to be aware of. Location is excellent - very close to local amenities but still feels like you're way out in the countryside!

Very happy with the cottage booked though not so happy with the weather! Enjoyed the warm welcome from the hosts and the little extras left for us at the property. Would book again if need to come back to the area and the property is free. All in all a very nice, comfortable property to stay in.

This cottage is a little gem in a wonderful location. You're in the countryside but within a very pleasant 15 minute walk along the river to the centre of Durham. The owners are close by and very welcoming and helpful but respectful of your privacy. The cottage is very well equipped, spacious, quiet and really warm and cosy. We are looking forward to booking it again.

Lovely cottage in quiet location yet close enough to walk into the centre of Durham. Lots of other places to visit nearby as well.

This is an outstanding little cottage in walking distance of Durham; we love it here. It's the second time we have rented this cottage and would highly recommend. Durham is my favourite city and Dairy cottage is within walking distance, and even after a whiskey 🥃 at one of the many bars it is an easy walk home.

Good location. Easy to park. Reasonably well equipped and heating very good. Lots of seating and generally very pleasant. The downstairs bedroom was quite cramped for elderly mum who suffers from mobility problems and bath had no grab rails. Only a trickle of water from hot tap. Upstairs bedroom bit claustrophic due to bed being under the eaves. A DVD player may be quite useful for some families.

A perfect place. In the middle of the countryside but only a short walk into the city. Very friendly hosts and the cottage was stunning. We loved it

Lovely cottage and really enjoyed stating there. V comfortable and ideal location - close to centre of Durham but in countryside. We will definitely come again. Only issue was bed upstairs- the slats and inner legs kept moving so sagged in middle . Needs tightening or replacing. Would also be great if took dogs so could bring our cocker spaniel.

We had a lovely weekend in Dairy Cottage. The cottage is in a fabulous location offering the best of both worlds. You are in the middle of the countryside and yet within 10-15 minutes walk alongside the river into the centre of Durham. It was lovely and warm, well equipped and very comfortable. Dave, the owner was very helpful for recommending walks and places to eat. Look forward to staying here again when we go later in the year. Would highly recommend this cottage
