The cottage is small but nice. It need few touch ups like "wobbly" tabs but it's not a big issue. It is located in a beautiful spot and just few minutes drive to all tourist attraction such as Tintagel Castle, Boscastle and many more.
We enjoyed a lovely bank holiday weekend staying at Downhouse Cottage, as two couples and a dog! A cosy cottage with enough room for all of us and everything we needed for self catering. A lovely, quiet, country setting but only a quick drive to the coast.

The cottage was booked for a family reunion and we chose it because it was pet friendly. On the whole the facilities were good, very quiet and secluded with stunning views and the big plus point was the huge field behind the cottage where we were able to let our two young dogs run free with no worries of livestock and they had an absolute blast there. However I could not recommend the cottage to other pet owners due to the fact that the garden was not enclosed. Yes there is a surrounding wall and gate but the wall is only about two feet high so dogs could easily jump the wall and get onto the road and although there was very little traffic there was still some and it travelled at quite a speed meaning that I could not let my dogs have the freedom of the garden. Although this did mar our stay there I'm sure that people without pets would find the accommodation acceptable.

We had a wonderful stay in Downhouse the views were outstanding and it was very dog friendly. It’s also close to lots of pretty villages like Boscastle and Gina gave us some great advice on walks and getting the boat from Rock to Padstow making a great day out.
Our second time of staying. Owners are such lovely helpful people. Views are simply stunning. Location is perfect and it’s really easy to get to the surrounding larger areas to visit. Can not recommend enough and yes we will return for a third time!
We really loved staying in the cottage, everything was there that we could have needed. It’s is such a cosy little cottage with the most spectacular views, I wish I could wake up to that view every day!

Wonderful stay at Downhouse cottage. Absolute dream for those that appreciate the great outdoors. Very dog friendly and views to die for. The cottage is tastefully decorated with a cosy cornish cottage feel. Gina and John have thought of everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We were given clear instructions on how to use the fire in the living room etc and the cottage provide lots of information on places to visit locally, shops etc . We were greeted with a cream tea on arrival which was very thoughtful. Although the garden is very small to the cottage, it is surrounded by at least 6 fields that are free of animals and can be used to walk your dogs. The double bedroom is extremely cosy and duvet extremely warm. One evening we had very high winds and we did not find the cottage drafty at all. If I was to knit pick I would say that the mattress on the double bed is a little squidgy but not a big issue for us at all. We had great weather for October too. Peace and tranquility and although we were attached to a family renting downhouse it was still extremely quite. We loved it and will be returning next year hopefully.
We just love the cottage! It was our 3rd time in 4 years. For us it's a unique place and so cosy when the fire is on. The bed was very comfortable and shower warm after a long day out. The views from the cottage is just stunning and very inspiring! We love it and will come back soon. Thanks Gina and John!

Lovely location, had a brilliant time . Only complaint is the lunge furniture it so uncomfortable and after a tiring day you look forward to snuggling back . Overall good experience
We thought the cottage was lovely and extremely well appointed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the number of flies - this was more than partly due to the proximity of a large manure heap in the adjacent field.
A lovely outlook, good to be just a bit away from the tourist hotspots!
A well located cottage with good sea views and decor. The water supply comes from a bore hole so there's mineral water on tap. Friendly, helpful owners. Footpaths on the doorstep, and fields where the dogs could be exercised. Good place.
