Remote location, so can't give a big score for local amenities, however, that's what we wanted. The cottage itself is very old with thick walls and is therefore a little cool on the inside. So, we made full use of the open fire, which I enjoyed. It was exactly as described and then some, so we were very satisfied. Parking is right next to the cottage and then you have the option of closing the gate behind you - not that I imagine there's much in the way of crime up there! Would definitely go back and recommend to others.

We had a great time here at the cottage it as everything you could need, as a cosy feel and even though its situated on a farm its quite and situated on the side of a hill with great viwes. The village of Caldbeck is 5min drive but walking would be a fair trek after visiting the pub after a few. But this village is the place I would love to live in stunning place. It takes about 20min drive from Keswick, if you have satnav don't put in shortest root that we did!! you will finish up going up in the hills on a single car traffic road all I can say is thank gawd no other cars were coming the other way.We did sort out a better rout after consulting a map. I would definitely have no hesitation staying here again and the owner Helen is a lovely woman and gave us some great recommended places to go and visit, just wish it had been two weeks we had stayed for :( Dave. Lovely cosy cottage. Very clean. Not particularly modern but that adds to the charm and cosiness of the cottage. Secluded location on a working farm. But lovely flat walk in to Caldbeck by the water falls. Log fire with wood supplied daily by the owner was a fabulous addition. Owners are very friendly and live at the end of the row of 3 cottages so handy if needed but they were so busy on the farm so you wouldn't know they lived so close. All of downstairs is one room with a sofa, 2 armchairs, dining table and small kitchen but enough room for our family of 2 adults, a child and a dog. Caldbeck and the surrounding areas are beautiful. There is a tea room and a lovely pub in the center of Caldbeck and a small shop. Cottage was ideally situated for travel to Keswick and Carlisle. We had a lovely week helped by the sunny weather.

A lovely little cottage. We had everything that we needed, a little cold at times however we only needed to light the fire once. Excellent location with two superb pubs, The Oddfellows and The Snooty Fox nearby, both serving wonderful food. If you want to go to Ambleside or Windermere then its a fair drive but access to the northern lakes is good. We would visit and stay here again

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well equipped cottage, situated in the most beautiful location with stunning views. Amazing night skies with no light pollution.

Beautiful little cottage on the northern edge of the Lake District, comfortable, warm, and with everything you need for a cozy week of walking. The owners were very accomodating, coming to collect us when the road we expected to use to get to the cottage was closed, and providing plenty of firewood.

Lovely clean cottage a little isolated. Would be lovely to visit in the summer the weather was against us.

Wonderful cottage, great base to tour various places, excellent for dogs, plenty of beautiful walks surrounding cottage. On a working farm, but still tranquil, great place to de stress.

We had a wonderful time here, the location was perfect, the kids got to look at the farm animals and the owner was lovely nothing is too much trouble. Highlight for all was the cosy log fire after a winters walk!! Would love to visit again ?

Very cosy cottage. Small but with ample space for 3 adults and one 4 year old. Night storage heaters very effective and the log fire was especially enjoyable. The owner provided a plentiful supply of logs. One day during our stay there was no hot water. However, by the time we arrived back from a day out the fault had been rectified. Also, our granddaughter enjoyed her tour of the farm which the owner fitted in with her own busy scedule.

Lovely two days, very helpful lady. Comfortable and clean cottage. A fire light would have been helpful!

We had a lovely time, everything was great. The only hiccup was struggling to find it but that may have been our fault, we just could find details of where exactly it was.

Nice peaceful location, cosy cottage with well stocked firewood, just could of done with a pub in walking distance
