An excellent property with plenty of equipment and facilities.

The cottage is much bigger than we expected, the photos really don’t do it justice. We had plenty of room for 10 of us and the kitchen is very well equipped for bigger numbers with two kettles (3 if you count the one in the range), two toasters and plenty of cutlery/crockery. Contact with owner was very good.

Had the best week celebrating New Year in Featherstone Cottage. The house is perfect, clean, comfortable, really well equipped and the owner is lovely and helpful. Perfect for adults, kids and dogs!! Pickering is a 10 min drive away and there are lots of great places to visit for long walks a short drive away we visited Dolby Forest and Robin Hoods Bay. We would definitely recommend staying here and we will be back.

We had a brilliant family Christmas holiday ,plenty of room for everyone ,lovely location very cosy and homely and brilliant Christmas decorations .

Whilst we enjoyed our family time at Featherstone Cottage, there were many things which left a lot to be desired. Our first job on arrival was to replace all the light bulbs outside (which we had to go and buy) as someone nearly tripped in the dark back garden, and some were missing in several rooms also. Kitchen was well equipped to cook a Sunday roast for the family and a brilliant fridge also. The level of cleaning was pretty bad (cobwebs in a lot of room, especially above the meter box in the downstairs toilet) and dust in many other places. The main problem was the mattresses on the beds (apart from the single). Everyone in the double beds went home with backache and the mattresses badly need replacing before anything else is done to upgrade the cottage. For this reason I would not recommend it to others.

We stayed as a group of 9 & a dog in August and had a lovely time. The cottage had everything you needed and more, and was very dog friendly. We had kids with us who loved the park which is close by. Cottage was plenty big enough for us all, with lots of different sitting areas and spaces so we weren’t on top of each other. Location was handy for lots of different days out. Would highly recommend.

All the family had an excellent stay at Featherstone. loved the ditties and decoration around the place. It was very well presented and clean on arrival. One of my grandchildren was crying when she left as didn’t want to go home. Other two didn’t want to go home either. The children were safe to play in the garden we took a paddling pool and they loved it. Would recommend it.

Great place for a family get together we really enjoyed it the only thing that would have made it better would have been to have a longer holiday maybe next time.
