Initial logs for wood burner included. \n\n Enclosed courtyard with garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. \n\nFelicity House is in an enviable position overlooking the village of Staithes with the Cleveland Way trail running past the doorstep. The cottage has lots of original features and has been renovated by the present owners to a very good standard. Some of the rooms have lovely sea views and the living room has a cosy wood burner to curl up in front of after a long walk along the rugged coastline. \n\nStaithes is within the North York Moors National Park so stunning scenery and traditional Yorkshire villages are in abundance. The village has a good local pub serving food as well as a shop for essentials. Staithes is a great place for fossil hunting and in the summer you see many children enjoying searching the rock pools and crevices for these fossils. The village is like stepping back in time with its cobbled streets and quaint quirky cottages that lead down to the harbour where you can sit and enjoy a drink with the locals at the pub. Staithes has now become a great artists retreat with an excellent art festival held every year.\n\nThe property is perfect for those walkers amongst you as you can walk along the clifftops following the trail to Whitby and further on the Robin Hood’s Bay and Ravenscar. The town of Whitby is just 8 miles away and is one of the most visited fishing towns on the coast famous for the abbey being the inspiration to Bram Stoker’s book ’Dracula’. Felicity House is a great base to see the best that Yorkshire has to offer. Beach 200 yards. Shop and restaurant 400 yards pub 200 yards. Felicity house was just about perfect for our needs - we have never been to such a dog friendly holiday cottage - lovely dog blankets supplied for the sofas - dog bowls and even a towel for muddy paws! The only issues were the steep hill and no downstairs loo which made things a little more awkward for the older members of our family but didn’t spoil the holiday at all! The kitchen had everything we needed as long as we put the dishwasher on frequently (a few more wine glasses would have been appreciated over New Year!) Dishwasher tablets were supplied - plenty of nice T-towels - oven gloves - clean new washing up sponges - even cling film and tin foil - which makes a real difference when you are away and was much appreciated! We had an issue with the toilet over flushing on the first night but it was sorted the next day by the housekeeper who was very friendly and helpful. Staithes itself is very quaint - very dog friendly and gave us a great base for exploring the nearby fossil beaches.

Had a lovely time at Felicity House, everything you could need was there, very dog friendly, my two dogs loved it. The small courtyard was a great bonus. We will definitely book again 👍

Cosy, comfortable house in picturesque village close to spectacular coastal walks and beaches.

We had a lovely break away at felicity house, comfortable and very charming property that was well equipped with everything you need. Car parking is limited in the area but this property has its own car park right next to the house so super easy. Lovely views, we would return. Only small thing that we thought was missing was a clock.

Overall we had an absolutely fantastic stay which suited us to the ground. Location was uphill at the end of a narrow harbour lane, which requires pretty good driving skills. It also meant barely any traffic passed the house, apart from foot traffic as it connected to the coastal walk. You could sit out the front with your coffee and have the friendliest locals, walkers and tourists pass by. We also didn’t touch the car for a couple of days. The house is a gorgeous and sweet, not too big but fully equipped and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy, but a note to the owners, the attic room could do with a blind on the dormer window. That said, absolutely beautiful views from the loft and double bedroom. We would definitely come back!
