Our second visit and just as good as our first. A perfect place to stay with our dog.

The cottage is beautiful in a great position , alas attention needs to be made to the off road approach, my ordinary Ford is now happy to be home. Attention also must be brought to the rocking chair that has a dodgy arm that falls off if you look at it too hard. There is a glass in the kitchen that is cracked. Otherwise a fantastic cottage if you can ignore the crows who daily splattered the car with thick poo

We had a brilliant family holiday in Northumberland. Ferncliffe Cottage was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a fantastic base from where you can explore the surrounding area and return at the end of the day to a very relaxing setting. The cottage was immaculately clean and spacious and we would like to return at some future point.

One of the best holiday cottages we've stayed in and we've stayed in a lot over the last 30 years! Couldn't fault anything. Very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Fantastic views and a very thoughtful welcome basket which we much appreciated. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Ferncliffe is a wonderful dog friendly cottage. Would not hesitate to recommend. Very well equipped and comfortable. Amazing views from the lounge, main bedroom and garden. The bridleway alongside the house is ideal for an early morning or late evening stroll with a dog. The location was ideal for popping into Rothbury for essentials or for a drink and a meal. The cottage is in a convenient location for travelling to all the places on the coast of Northumberland as well as the towns on the Scottish border.

Ferncliffe Cottage was one of the best we've stayed in. The views from the cottage are superb, the cottage itself is spacious, comfortable, clean and very well appointed. So nice to stay in a place that has plenty of nice crockery, glasses and cooking equipment etc. The extra touches, such as ornaments, pictures etc really made you feel at home. We were quite sad to leave and would definitely consider using it again. All in all a lovely comfortable place to spend your holiday with the bonus of plenty to do in the area with Rothbury only a short drive away for shops, eating etc.

We had a wonderful week at Ferncliffe Cottage. The cottage is beautifully furnished and has everything you need. The views over the valley are wonderful. Location was excellent. Great walks from the door and a stunning drive to the coast. We really appreciated staying in a very quiet corner of Northumberland but being close enough to the coast and castles that we wanted to visit. We have stayed in quite a few cottages over the last few years and this was our favourite.
