    We felt this property is misrepresented as a four bedroom cottage. The 'fourth' bedroom is effectively an extension of the living room - and a corridor to the garage - albeit down a flight of stairs. The issues are two fold: 1) There is no door or sound proofing between the living room and this sleeping area. Hence, unless the people using this are the last to bed, it is very unsuitable. This is particularly the case if this area is used for children. 2) The garage is used for wet kit, boots and washing. Hence this route to the garage is very inconvenient when occupied. We will echo the view that the property interior is tired and could do with an update.

    Perfect location for us, cottage was a good size, perfect for our party. Kitchen was reasonably well equipped and all appliances worked well. Overall the cottage was just what we wanted for our holiday and was good value for money. Would certainly use this cottage again if staying in Ambleside

    The property has a lovely, dog-secure garden. Although the kitchen is very small for 8 people, it was well equipped. The central heating on the whole was very effective. On the negative side, the property is not really big enough for 8 people. There is only 1double bed, the others being a mix of bunk and single beds. The downstairs bedroom has access to an integral garage and it is very cold, with a draught coming under the door. There are 2 additional heaters in this room to compensate but one was a floor fan heater which has been hung on the wall and you need to be sat under it to get any benefit. This type of fan can only be used for short periods. The other heater was a freestanding electric radiator. The location of the property is excellent, being only 6/7 minutes walk into town centre.

    Beautiful situation just below Wansfell. Amazing amount of wildlife came to the back garden after we filled the bird feeders woodpecker, nuthatch, bullfinch and Jay amongst the many visitors. Two beautiful grey squirrels came and fed regularly and two country rats? made there way every day to feed amongst the birds on the ground. They seemed to be quite happy on the ground with all the small birds. They seemed to be living outside the garden because we watched them disappear over the back. One day we were going out and opened the front door to see a doe gazing in at us then she just calmly walked away over the next garden. Hill up to bungalow was quite steep especially carrying shopping. Only downside was when we arrived the oven door was hanging off and we went into Windermere on Sunday but letting office was closed so had to go back the next day. they rectified the ovendoor very quickly, it was repaired when we returned to bungalow along with a pair of oven gloves which had been missing. Could have been cleaner. Weather was quite wet and it was nice to return to a warm bolthole.

    The cottage is situated perfectly. Lovely and quiet. Inside is a little dated but that doesn't bother us. What did was a few things that could have been changed especially for the amount we paid. For instance the kettle is a little old and grubby... For the sake of 25 quid just a buy a new one! And also the iron is very dirty we wouldn't use it on our clothes again for 25 quid just buy a new one! The house was otherwise clean and comfortable We would stay again but the kettle and iron need changing

    good location nice house - however, the house in general could do with a really good clean - cobwebs on lights, cooker dirty, dirt could be found all over. the downstairs bedroom is damp. the bunk bedroom curtain rail falls off, kitchen units are dated and doors don't shut, broadband is advertised but a notice tells you it is limited and only for business or research purposes, not pleasure, the tv is too small for the size of the lounge. the tumble drier does not work - there is no power to it. to sum up - lovely house and location, but needs a lot of cleaning and maintenance.
