We loved the location! The village has great pubs (all of them!) and an excellent pastry/pie shop (the humble pie). The house had everything we needed. There is plenty of car parking around so no need to worry about not having own parking! We loved all of it.

We have stayed in Grans Cottage many times over the years and each time we go, it like going home! As usual, the cottage was warm, cosy and spotless. The lounge is welcoming, the kitchen is superb with everything you need, the beds are lovely and comfortable, even electric blankets for chilly winter nights! Overall, a little gem, peacefully tucked away in a delightful part of Wensleydale.

A huge extractor outlet pipe is blowing out fumes all day and night next door. It is a pipe to a heating system in the deluxe bed and breakfast next door. This outlet pipe is so loud that it fires on and off every few minutes like a jet engine and can be heard throughout the cottage. Why come to the Dales to breathe in fresh air when you can stand behind a bus and inhale the same sort of fumes . Something needs to be done about this as it kept us awake most of the night the first night and the fumes are acrid when leaving the premises.

This was our 7th visit to this lovely cottage, which was warm and cosy when we arrived and spotlessly clean as always. The cottage has an excellent kitchen, very nice lounge and extremely comfortable beds. Added to that Askrigg is a lovely quaint village which has a shop, deli, three pubs and of course, beautiful countryside - what more could anyone want. We were very lucky to have good sunny weather everyday. We will definitely be returning!

The only reason we didn't give the property a 10 was that you couldn't park outside, however we did know this prior to arrival and it didn't detract from our holiday.
