The cottage was lovely and amazing views. The spotting scope in the lounge/conservatory was perfect for having a nosey at passing ships, sailing boats and cruise liners. Not quite sure why but one of our dogs was infatuated with the neighbours pigs and crept over to say hello whenever we turned our backs!! (there was no smell from the pigs!!!) With a tinge of sadness tapered with a sense of amazement we witnessed a White Tailed Sea Eagle take a young rabbit from the garden.

Went to this cottage when our previous booking was cancelled due to broken boiler so it was a last minute choice. The situation of the cottage cannot be faulted the scenery is breathtaking and is seen at it's best from the conservatory/living room. However the cottage itself needs complete refurbishment. It also needs a professional deep clean. One of the chairs in the living room was unusable due to the fact that it is broken, not much use when four people are in the property. I had to clean all the kitchen worktops one of which still had crumbs and sugar left over from the previous occupants. The Aga is filthy as is the door etc of the microwave. I could go on and on with faults, unfortunately got the impression we were in someones house as the drawers were full of bits and pieces which are of no interest or use to holidaymakers. All in all very disappointing and would only return if the place was drastically updated.

This was a lovely cottage. I would have liked the fencing to have been more secure so the dogs could have just run free. The cottage is in an excellent place and l would recommend it to others very relaxing and peaceful. The aga kept us warm.

Green Hill was a very well equipped holiday house. The views were amazing from the Sun Room. The house was set back from the main road, so was peaceful and with no street lighting, gave great views of the night sky. The guests the previous week had seen the Northern lights, but alas they didn’t appear for us. There was plenty of information on the local area, walks that were on the doorstep, or a short half hour to the Old Man of Storr and the Trotternish hills, that were spectacular. There was plenty of space for at least 3 cars, although we did not need it. We would definitely consider returning again.

A lovely cottage which was kept warm with an Aga. Comfortable beds. Shared breakfast every morning with a family of rabbits who had a burrow just outside the kitchen window. Surrounding areas we’re beautiful and the scenery was amazing. Was a 12hr drive to get there but it was an amazing drive. Highly recommended x

We were looking for a no nonsense comfortable traditional quiet place in a great location and that is what we got. I opted for the AGA cooker which proved to be very useful for drying wet boots and clothing off overnight, as well as keeping the place cosy with a gentle background heat. Didn’t need the radiators on except on the odd very chilly night. The weather in that area tends to be a law unto itself and can change unexpectedly. The best and key feature of the property is the panoramic conservatory which takes full advantage of the stunning wide views down over the bay. Also provided is a telescope and binoculars so you can watch the local wildlife and the occasional passing submarine ! Alistair, one of the owners I met, was very friendly and unobtrusive and left us alone for the entire two weeks after our brief meeting. There is a deep freezer in the utility room so I would recommend buying all your freeable veg, bread etc with you. The local shops are not great, unless you like tinned food and that white bread you can squeeze into fish food. The local landscape is quite stunning for hiking and if you are into fossil hunting and checking out the Jurassic history of this unique island then I can think of no better place to do it all from. Highly recommended.
