The place was not clean when we landed up there late in the afternoon. There were three dead bats that we found along with what seemed like bat droppings in one of the bedrooms. The same bedroom had a musty smell. The plates and cutlery were not all clean and we had to put it through a dishwasher before first use. We had to continue at the property owing to the fact that we gathered there from different locations and to look for another property would have been impractical at that moment. There is a working yard behind the house. While there was no disturbance from that place during our two night stay, it was definitely not an idyllic sight.
There are plenty of rooms for socialising by different age groups.
We cut short our visit by a night. If the place were maintained clean, it would have been great. Not happy with the experience, I'm afraid.

We spent a fantastic holiday at Halford Big Barn. Everything was working perfectly and the house has plenty of space both indoor and out. We had to call on our landlords once and it was no problem at all. 10/10
We had a great time at the Halford Big Barn. It was everything we needed. Thank - you.

Perfect for a large family get together - we stayed in joint celebration of a milestone 60th birthday for my husband and our twin daughters' birthdays.
Halfords Big Barn ticked all our boxes, with plenty of room for all, we never felt "cramped" or "squashed" and were especially impressed with the huge dining room table and sufficient chairs (and room) for all.
Well equipped, very homely and comfortable.
Yes, there were a few cobwebs and not every surface was spotlessly clean, but overall we were more than satisfied with our stay and had a fabulous time.
We had a lovely family w/e away with nine adults and nine children. We have spent twice the price in the past for a similar w/e away so this provided all that we wanted in terms of space and was a lot cheaper. Lovely countryside around. John and Sue

Whilst the property was everything we wanted, I was very upset that the owner let herself into the property when we were out and was snooping around. This did stop when I complained to the husband but it slightly soured the whole experience.
We had a excellent week. The cottage was a ideal size. It’s definitely a property where a large group can spread out.
A great venue for our annual October half term trip! Brilliant location, loads of space yet very cosy
We booked the Halford Big Barn for an 80th birthday with friends and family. The house was in a great location, was certainly big enough for 11 adults and 5 children. It was safe enough for the children to play outside and explore.
Halford Big Barn had an ideal layout, for our family one of my son,s, wife & 2 children used one wing & the other son & wife with 2 older children Used the other wing, as they had their own staircase, they didn,t disturb each other with their differing routines. My husband & my other son had the 2 downstairs rooms, both en-suit. There was ample space for us to be all together or be on our own. Ample comfortable seating. Some bedside lights were without builbs & some were positioned without a power point, but it was all managable. Well equipped to wash & dry clothes. Plenty of crockery etc. Books, toys & Piano too. A few curtain hooks could be replaced. Well equipped kitchen.
