Great hosts lovely open fire nice chocolate cake

The only problem was that there wasn’t much space to put food as the kitchen was so well equipped, it would have been good to have 2 toilets but that’s not something that can be changed, a real blessing to have all firewood and coal provided and such a good fire , and we’ll be back

Lovely cottage with a chocolate cake waiting. Lovely views

A pleasant place to stay, out in the countryside but within easy distance of Alnwick. Good views, and a generous garden area (not that we sat out in it in November). The house is in a busy farm, but we were not disturbed. It was warm and comfortable. The flowers and chocolate cake were appreciated, and it is dangerously convenient to be in the midst of a pudding-making establishment! Equipment was up to standard, though we'd have liked some tumblers in the kitchen, more appropriately-shaped for the local Alnwick rum and Hotspur gin and tonic! It should be made clear on the website that the cottage is not detached; it didn't affect us on this occasion, but at other times, and with other neighbours, it might have done.

Our eighth visit to Paddock Cottage and as always we enjoyed this cosy warm cottage and the lovely fresh flowers and delicious chocolate cake. The owners are friendly and helpful but never intrusive. The garden is enclosed and great for dogs. The farm itself is in a lovely spot with views looking out to the Cheviots. Alnwick is just a couple of miles away and the beaches can all be reached in half an hour or less. All in all a great place to stay and we will be back there next year.

Warm, cosy, quiet retreat from the town. Comfortable bed and well equipped. A reading light would be welcome in the lounge. Hosts made contact before arriving and very welcoming. We enjoyed the stay and it's a great base to see the area.

It was a lovely cosy cottage very close to Alnwick and the beaches and the owners were very thoughtful

No one was there to greet us and we waited over 40 mins before we realised the cottage was open, we told the owner when she visited with a cake and she apologised, not a good start. I had to change my own single bed sheets were covered in dried grass in the single room. Double bed was extremely uncomfortable. Red double sofa was clean on surface but I turned the cushions to find a lot of accumulative dirt should have been vacuumed. The coffee table in the living room was broken and dangerous. The mop used to clean floors stored in kitchen cupboard was disgusting and smelled it was so old and soiled. Step at top of stairs is dangerous and should be marked with hazard tape, I tripped over it several times as the carpet colour hides the step. Owner/Other residents dogs were kept in an open booted car in a crate and constantly barked If anyone moved around hence spoiling your using the garden outdoor area. On a more positive note, area was nice and central to travel Northumberland and views were nice too. I feel more attention to getting these things sorted could make a big difference to your holiday and the price is not cheap given the quality and cleanliness.

Lovely cottage with private garden for dogs. Set on a working farm. Welcomed with fresh flowers and scrummy chocolate cake. Great holiday

A very pleasent, and well maintained holiday home. Good value for money, dog friendly, within 10 to 15 minutes drive to beautiful beaches.

We had a great time at Paddock Cottage, it’s in a brilliant location very close to everything we wanted. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners who stopped to talk every time we saw them, our son loved the animals on the farm especially the baby chicks. The cottage itself was well equipped and had good WiFi, we would book again
