Loved the cottage, well kitted out with lots of character. Main bedroom quite restricted as bed took up most of the room but otherwise all was great!

Lovely cottage enjoyed our stay Stairs very steep and as no downstairs toilet a little inconvenient. Kitchen a little cramped and little space in cupboards which were seemingly packed with items unlikely to be used. One cupboard packed with glassware ie. tumblers ,wine glasses, champagne flutes etc. ( a little over the top ) Overall a pleasant cottage and well situated for southern lakes Would go again if available

A lovely cottage except for the bed in the main room. It gave me such a bad backache that I struggled to walk, which spoilt my holiday, and I am still in pain now On the last night my husband gave up and slept on the sofa, which even though it was only a 2 seater, he said that was preferable. Also although the cottage was very well equipped, it didn't have a dishwasher which I found very disappointing. Such a shame, because in every other way the cottage was lovely and you could see that the owners had gone to a lot of trouble to make it cosy and homely.

A very clean and tidy cottage. Perfect for what we needed it for and there was not a thing wrong with it. Anything that you needed was there. Very nicely furnished. Couldn’t be happier!

We had a wonderful stay in this charming and comfortable cottage. The location, nestled between Windermere and Ambleside, is perfect for getting to local shops and tourist sites. As keen walkers, Herdwick Cottage was also a great base to access lots of walks all over the Lake District. The house itself was very clean and modern and ideal for all of us, including a dog and a baby! We will certainly be staying here again in the near future.
