Fabulous little cottage equipped with everything you will need. Jacuzzi was lovely and relaxing. No shop in the village but a lovely welcome pack provided on your arrival. We had one of the best meals ever at the Fox and Hounds across the road. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed in this cottage from 1st June-3rd June 2019. We really enjoyed our stay here & would definitely return. It is only a tiny little village with not much around apart from a little pub opposite the cottage. On the Saturday we got there we made full use of the spa bath which was a brilliant bonus. It is only a 10/15 minute drive to flamingo land which we went to on the Sunday. And not a far drive from Scarborough. The cottage is very clean & well looked after. The bed is soooo comfy! 100% would recommend. Thank you for having us :)

Lovely, comfortable, well-equipped cottage in a pretty little village, with a good pub just over the road. The outside space was a real suntrap and was a peaceful place to sit and listen to the birdsong. We appreciated the "welcome pack" of bread and cheese, and also the large towels in the bathroom and the selection of books and DVDs. All-in-all a great place to spend a few days, with lots to see and do nearby.

we spent a lovely 4 days at Hill Cottage, had some lovely walks and a few rides out. Great area for walking and very friendly people. Very cosy country cottage just had to be careful on the stairs as they were very narrow when going round the corner (typical for the style of cottage). Summer house with the jacuzzi was ideal after our long walks. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend.

This cottage provided a lovely relaxing break for a long weekend. The fresh bread, cheese etc was a welcome surprise on arrival and provided a welcome snack. The food at the pub over the food was lovely and the place was packed. The bed was so comfortable and we both slept so well. The jacuzzi bath was a great place to relax with a drink at the end of the day. Hill View Cottage provided a great place to stay for relaxing a long weekend and would be good to visit for a longer period of time.

What a little treasure this place is! I'm loathe to write a brilliant review because it might mean it won't be available next time we'd like to visit. I will though, because it really was brilliant, and exactly what we needed. We had in our sights a last minute trip to Malta for some R&R as it's been a long time since our last break.... however, a few things happened that meant we just couldn't go that far. So we ended up here - nearer Malton! But what's in a few letters? As it happened it really felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but in reality we were only an hour from home, and ten minutes from the bigger towns. Admittedly, we had great weather for our four night stay, which meant we could get out and about for some lovely long walks - details can be found in the excellent personalised handbook in the cottage. We took advantage of the recommendations for local food too. Although I've marked it down for 'local amenities', this isn't necessarily a disadvantage, it meant that the village is really unspoiled and quiet, and you'll just have to take the car (or bus) to one of the bigger villages or towns to get shopping. But not to worry, the owners leave a lovely welcome pack, so you won't starve! The pub just over the road did great food - although we just wandered over early and got a table, I would book in advance in future. Plenty of books, games, DVDs etc in case of boredom or wet weather. A fantastic addition for us was the use of BBC iPlayer on the TV - this meant that we could finish off binge watching Line of Duty before the new series began! We wandered down to the other end of the village where there are fewer street lights after dark to look at the night sky - I've never seen the stars so clearly, so that's worth a mention. The cottage itself - it may be small but it is perfectly formed! Incredibly comfortable furnishings, and quality throughout, it's like a home from home. Only with a lovely big spa bath in a summerhouse!! The sign of a great holiday for us, is when we are sad to leave - and we really wish we had been able to book for another few days. I can't recommend this cottage highly enough.
