The cottage is in a nice quiet area and has lovely views, however the cottage could do with some TLC and the garden furniture needs replacing. Also, whilst the washing machine is useful, there is no clothes airer available making it difficult to dry laundry. There is a nice park behind the cottage if you need to walk the dogs or children need to play outside and Macclesfield Forest is also very close. There is a good selection of pubs in or near the village, an hourly bus service to Macclesfield and very good road links to the Peak District area and Buxton.

When we arrived the cottage looked very quaint and we were warned about the steep staircase which we managed with extreme care.(Not recommended for the older person) This could be improved by a further side rail on the left as you climb the stair. No amenities close by for shopping so you must prepare. The local public house, St Dunstans is an excellent place to have a drink and the food is wonderful. (Not served all week so check) You will be in an area of beauty for very good walking and pretty central for all the visitors attractions. The sleeping arrangements are reasonable but the smaller room has a very tiny type of camp bed . Bathroom being downstairs provides a few more problems. You need good weather!!

Staying in cottages every year, this cottage was the poorest yet. It needed a lot of TLC with some capital being spent on furniture and amenities. A Ladder would have been less vertical than the stairs and there were several steps between the various rooms both upstairs and downstairs which were easy to forget and trip. Garden furniture (bench seat with broken and rotten slats), Access to balcony was through bedroom window. We loved the area but were very disappointed by the accommodation.
